Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today that lauded local singer/songwriter Jeremy Messersmith will launch the New Century Sessions, a new Minnesota music series giving artists a chance to not only play, but to share the evolution of their work. The series will run at the Trust's intimate New Century Theatre in downtown Minneapolis. The concert featuring Messersmith with Twin Cities band Cjell Cruze opening, is set for 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013.

The Broadway Experience returned for a sixth summer program at Manhattan Movement & Arts Center from July 29th - August 11th. With 22 professional educators from the Broadway community, TBE offered over 60 classes, workshops, lectures, and a performance based second week. TBE also launched a new Pre-Professional level for college age students and invited Sierra Boggess as guest speaker. Jacob's Pillow presents the athletic and daring Kyle Abraham/Abraham.In.Motion (A/I/M) in the Doris Duke Theatre, August 21-25. Led by 2012 Jacob's Pillow Dance Award recipient Kyle Abraham, A/I/M will perform Pavement (2012), a gripping contemporary work layered with urban and classical dance influences that shows "great subtlety and beauty" (Andrew Boynton, The New Yorker).

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey announced today it was extending the run of its critically acclaimed comedy Tovarich through September 1st. Added performances of this long-forgotten treasure, by French playwright Jacques Deval and adapted by the American author Robert E. Sherwood, are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 29th, 30th and 31st at 8 p.m.; and Saturday August 31st and Sunday, September 1st at 2 p.m.

Infinity Theatre Company (Anna Roberts Ostroff & Alan Ostroff) and Perry Street Theatricals (Martin Platt & David Elliott) have just announced that the first Broadway production of DAMES AT SEA will set sail on Broadway in 2014. With a book and lyrics by George Haimsohn and Robin Miller, music by Jim Wise, and musical direction byRob Berman (The Pajama Game, Finian's Rainbow), DAMES AT SEA will be directed and choreographed by three time Tony Award nominee Randy Skinner (42nd Street, Irving Berlin's White Christmas). Artistic Director Antoni Cimolino has announced the 2014 season, in which, through the prism of a dozen plays, the Stratford Festival will explore the theme of Madness: Minds Pushed to the Edge.

New York City Center is celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Fall for Dance Festival with a very special season, beginning with two FREE evenings of dance at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, hosted by The Public Theater, on September 16 and 17 (rain date, September 18). The Festival will continue at City Center from September 25 - October 5 with performances by 20 acclaimed dance companies and artists from around the world, including three new works from today's most exciting young choreographers, commissioned by New York City Center in celebration of the tenth anniversary. The Festival's many free pre-show events will include dance lessons and panels by choreographers, artists and dance educators. All tickets are $15 and will go on sale Sunday, September 8 at 11 a.m.

Lynne Meadow, Barry Grove, and Mandy Greenfield have announced that Manhattan Theatre Club will produce the American premiere of TAKING CARE OF BABY, by Tony Award winner Dennis Kelly, directed by Erica Schmidt (Humor Abuse at MTC, Invasion!). TAKING CARE OF BABY will begin previews on Tuesday, November 5 and open Tuesday, November 19 as part of MTC's 2013-2014 season of The Studio at Stage II - Harold and Mimi Steinberg New Play Series at New York City Center - Stage II (131 West 55th Street).

Stephen Sondheim and Wynton Marsalis will collaborate on A BED AND A CHAIR: A New York Love Affair, a new musical event featuring Sondheim's music arranged and performed by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. This Encores! Special Event, directed by frequent Sondheim collaborator John Doyle, with choreography by Parker Esse and musical supervision by David Loud, was conceived by Peter Gethers, Jack Viertel and John Doyle, and will run for seven performances, November 13 - 17 at City Center.
