Jon Viktor Corpuz, who currently plays the role of Prince Chulalongkorn in Lincoln Center Theater's Broadway revival of THE KING AND I, is set to make his 54 Below solo debut, titled 'Confessions of a Drama King,' on Monday, June 15, at 7 p.m. Doors open shortly after 5 p.m.
On Monday, May 25th the Theater People Podcast welcomes Tony-nominated composer Jeanine Tesori. In the interview, she talks of the five-year journey that she took alongside lyricist and book writer Lisa Kron adapting Alison Bechdel's celebrated graphic memior. After a ground breaking Off-Broadway run, the musical is now Tony-nominated and playing at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theater. Tesori and Kron have been nominated together for this year's Best Original Score award; should they win, the pair would become the first all-female writing team in Tony history to take home that the prize.

An all-new THEATER TALK welcomes the key creative artists behind the new musical hit Fun Home – composer Jeanine Tesori, librettist/lyricist Lisa Kron, and author Alison Bechdel, who wrote and drew the bestselling graphic memoir that inspired the production. The show, now selling out at Circle in the Square, deals with the true story of Bechdel's relationship with her demanding father, her coming out in college as a lesbian that led her to learn of her father's closeted homosexuality, and his suicide, which followed this revelation.
Producers Fox Theatricals (Kristin Caskey, Mike Isaacson) and Barbara Whitman have announced that the coast-to-coast North American Tour of Fun Home, the twelve-time Tony Award nominated American musical based on Alison Bechdel's graphic novel of the same name, will begin in the 2016 - 2017 Season.
Happy Birthday, Judy Kuhn! Kuhn made her Broadway debut was in The Mystery of Edwin Drood. She then played Cosette in the 1987 multiple award winning Broadway production of Les Miserables brought her the first Tony Award nomination. The following year, Kuhn took on a transfer from London's West End, playing one of the main roles (Florence Vassy) in the Trevor Nunn-directed Chess, with music by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus (formerly of ABBA) and lyrics by Tim Rice. Later in 1993, Kuhn played the role of Betty Schaefer in the U.S premier production of Sunset Boulevard at the Shubert Theatre in Los Angeles. Kuhn sang the title role in the 1995 Disney animated film, Pocahontas, the film included her rendition of the song Colors of the Wind, which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for its composers Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz. On October 23, 2007, Kuhn returned to the Broadway Production of Les Miserables after 20 years, but this time assuming the role of Fantine.
Theatre East and Yale Alumni Association of New York will present Elizabeth Parrish with the Laurette Taylor Award on Thursday, May 28th at Ramscale Studio South, 463 West Street, in the West Village Highline district, NYC. The benefit starts at 7pm with an exclusive cocktail reception, followed by dinner at 8pm. The award will be presented to Ms. Parrish by Kate Mulgrew (Orange is the New Black). The ceremony will include tributes by alumna Meryl Streep and the Stella Adler Studio's Artistic Director, Tom Oppenheim.
