Following its hugely successful launch last year Bill Kenwright's new production of The Shawshank Redemption embarks on a national tour for 2016 from 30th August at Theatre Royal Windsor.

Kit Orton is more than prepared to take on the role of the Welsh Legend and relishes the opportunity to hit out those big numbers and of course twist those hips. Kit who trained in Opera has recently been seen as 'Bill Sikes' in "Oliver!" at the Watermill Theatre; "Dickens Abridged" at the Arts Theatre and 'Sir Lancelot' in "Spamalot" at the Harold Pinter Theatre and on tour.

As previously announced, double platinum selling artist Newton Faulkner joins the cast of Green Day's explosive Tony Award-winning musical, AMERICAN IDIOT, on its UK tour this spring. Newton will be taking on the role of Johnny from May 2016 after Matt Thorpe, who will open the role from tonight, 19 March at the Curve Theatre, Leicester until 7 May at the New Theatre, Oxford. Today, producer Mark Goucher has confirmed that following the phenomenal success of the current UK tour, the new production of Hairspray will return at the end of summer 2017 to once again tour the UK. This second tour of the smash hit musical will visit venues across the country until the spring of 2018. Casting, dates and locations for the 2017/18 tour will be announced in due course.

Acoustic power doesn't mean this guy can't rock. The Daily Mail writes that singer-songwriter Newton Faulkner will join the UK tour of AMERICAN IDIOT at the New Alexandra Theatre on May 10, taking over for Aaron Sidwell. The site also reports that the production is eyeing a return to the Arts Theatre this summer.

Following on from its hugely successful and critically acclaimed London run at the Arts Theatre, Leicester Square, Green Day's explosive, Tony Award winning Broadway musical American Idiot, will now be extending its UK tour into July 2016, with four more venues added, including the Spa Theatre, Bridlington (7-11 June), Theatre Royal, Nottingham (14-18 June), Empire Theatre, Liverpool (21-25 June) and the Grand Opera House, Belfast (28 June - 2 July).

Pauline McLynn (Father Ted, Shameless, EastEnders) will play Ella Khan in Ayub Khan Din's critically-acclaimed play East is East, which was part of Jamie Lloyd's second Trafalgar Transformed season, directed by Sam Yates, on a 16 week National Tour from tonight 11 June 2015, commencing at Theatre Royal, Brighton. East is East is designed by Tom Scutt, with lighting by Richard Howell and sound and music by Alex Baranowski.

Adam Karim (Sajit Khan), Assad Zaman (Saleem Khan), Dharmesh Patel (Abdul Khan), Salma Hoque (Meenah Khan) and Simon Nagra (George Khan) join the previously announced comedy award-winning actress Pauline McLynn (Ella Khan) and original West End cast members, Ashley Kumar (Tariq Khan) and Darren Kuppan (Maneer Khan) to complete the casting of the Khan family in the national tour of Ayub Khan Din's critically-acclaimed play East is East. The Khans are joined by Kammy Darweish (Mr Shah), Sakuntala Ramanee (Mrs Shah) and Sally Bankes (Auntie Annie). 

All Made Up are an all-female character improv group made up of a mix of talents. Actors from Grange Hill and Hollyoaks perform alongside theatre and TV producers. Stand ups stand along side writers. And advertising creatives act alongside the girl from the Argos Alien ad. Together they create a unique combination of comedy, drama and exhilarating scenarios that's not to be missed.
