Today theatrical charity Acting for Others announces initial participants in its 13th annual bucket collection. For two weeks, beginning 17 October, bucket collections will be held at the end of performances in almost every theatre across London and throughout the whole of the UK. Last year 86 theatres took part raising £232,791.

Following their one-off theatrical re-staging of Ken Loach's seminal work Cathy Come Home at the Barbican in July of this year, the award-winning theatre company Cardboard Citizens has announced a brand new touring production for October, Cathy, based around similar themes. This year marks the marks the both 50th anniversary of Loach's film and the 25th anniversary of the theatre company who work making theatre with and for homeless people.

Big Dance Week 2016, running from 2 to 10 July 2016, will be launched with a mass dance performance by hundreds of dancers in Trafalgar Square choreographed by Akram Khan on Saturday 2 July. This year's event is the final Big Dance, and celebrates a decade of festivals.
