SPAMALOT Extends At Playhouse To Feb 2014 As Palin Announced As 'God'

Monty Python legend Michael Palin has decided to 'fart in the general direction' of fellow Python legend, Eric Idle, when he appears as God on screen in Monty Python's Spamalot, this summer at The Playhouse Theatre to raise money for charity. At the same time, the show has now announced that it is extending its current run until 8th February 2014.

Comedian and actor Les Dennis will be reunited with his Life's Too Short co-star, film and TV actor Warwick Davis, when they star together as King Arthur and Patsy in Monty Python's Spamalot at the Playhouse Theatre, in Warwick Davis' towering West End debut (he was the tallest actor we could find at short notice). Following the huge success of The Rocky Horror Show 40th Anniversary Production at the King's Theatre Glasgow in February and March 2013, the production is triumphantly returning between today, 6 - 10 August 2013 as part of its year-long run. Dani Harmer, finalist of Strictly Come Dancing 2012 and star of Tracy Beaker, will play the role of Janet. Ben Forster, who won the ITV1 series Superstar and then went on to play the lead in Jesus Christ Superstar, will star alongside Dani in the role of Brad. West End actor Oliver Thornton, follows in the footsteps of Tim Curry starring as the lead character of Frank 'n' Furter. Christopher Luscombe, who is the director of The Rocky Horror Show 40th Anniversary production, will play the role of the Narrator in his first acting role for over a decade.

Iain Mitchell and Gregory Gudgeon Join TRAVELS WITH MY AUNT

On the day that rehearsals commence for its forthcoming production of Travels with My Aunt, the Menier Chocolate Factory is delighted to announce that Iain Mitchell and Gregory Gudgeon will be joining the previously confirmed cast members, David Bamber and Jonathan Hyde. Adapted for the stage by Giles Havergal and directed by Christopher Luscombe, the production has a strictly limited 8 week season, 2nd May to 29th June.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) Artistic Director Barbara Gaines and Executive Director Criss Henderson announced today CST's 2013/14 Season, which includes William Shakespeare's popular comedy The Merry Wives of Windsor, directed by Artistic Director Barbara Gaines; Shakespeare's epic history play Henry V, staged by acclaimed British director Christopher Luscombe; and Edmond Rostand's classic romance Cyrano de Bergerac, directed by Penny Metropulos and featuring Harry Groener (CST's The Madness of George III, Jeff Award) in the title role.

SPAMALOT to Move to Playhouse Theatre in November

According to published reports, Monty Python's Spamalot, a new musical lovingly ripped off from Monty Python and the Holy Grail by Eric Idle and John Du Prez, directed by Christopher Luscombe, will move to the Playhouse Theatre following its current run at the Harold Pinter Theatre. After closing at the Pinter on September 9, the show will open at the Playhouse on November 14, where it will play through April 13.
