This summer, Joe's Pub at The Public welcomes a slate of artists familiar to many because of their star turns in television, film, Broadway and The Public Theater's stage. The world premiere production of Hamilton, inspired by the book 'Alexander Hamilton' by Ron Chernow, with book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and directed by Thomas Kail, will start performances on Broadway on July 13 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Starring in the new musical will be Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jonathan Groff, Christopher Jackson, Leslie Odom Jr., Phillipa Soo, Anthony Ramos, Daveed Digs and Renee Elise Goldsberry. This Just In! Jonathan Groff will reprise his Off-Broadway performance in HAMILTON as King George, opposite Lin-Manuel Miranda, Christopher Jackson, Leslie Odom Jr., Phillipa Soo, Anthony Ramos, Daveed Digs and Renee Elise Goldsberry who will follow the show to Broadway. Plus, the cast is getting a little bit bigger with some new additions to the ensemble.

The Victory Dane Project celebrated its first anniversary on May 11, 2015, with a program that, if not stirring or original, at least caught my interest to see the well trained and very passionately committed young dancers.

Choreographer Amy Jordan's company, The Victory Dance Project, will celebrate its first anniversary this week with an evening of dance entitled People, Power and Possibility on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 7 pm at The Ailey Citigroup Theater, 405 West 55th Street (at 9th Avenue). The evening will honor former Ailey star Principal Dancer Renee Robinson, who will receive the company's First Annual Artist for Peace Award and will feature five works choreographed by Jordan.

The New York Drama Critics' Circle previously named Between Riverside and Crazy, by Stephen Adly Guirgis, best play of the 2014-15 season. Hamilton was named best musical. The selections were made at the organization's 80th annual voting meeting, at the offices of Time Out New York in Manhattan. A new concert series curated by the renowned Tony Award-winning composer, lyricist, conductor, and director, Jason Robert Brown. Each unique performance will incorporate an eclectic mix of material, featuring music from throughout his acclaimed career, along with new works in development. This performance, tonight, May 15, will feature Christopher Jackson (In The Heights, Hamilton) and Shoshana Bean at SubCulture.

It was announced today that The Visit, which will open tonight, Thursday, April 23rd as the final musical of the 2014-2015 Broadway season, will record its cast album. The Visit is the final musical ever written by legendary Oscar Award®, Grammy Award® and Tony Award®-winning composer John Kander and his writing partner lyricist Fred Ebb, before Mr. Ebb passed away.

HAMILTON creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda took to Twitter to reveal that for the first time, he requested that a celebrity in the audience of the hit off-Broadway musical be banned from a backstage visit.
