Lin-Manuel Miranda's HAMILTON Opens Tonight at The Public Theater

The world premiere production of HAMILTON, inspired by the book 'Alexander Hamilton' by Ron Chernow, with book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and directed by Thomas Kail, will run an additional four weeks through Sunday, May 3 with an official press opening tonight, February 17 at The Public Theater.

According to the New York Post, Lin-Manuel Miranda's new musical Hamilton, currently in an extended run through April 5 at the Public Theater, might cut its off-Broadway stay short in order to open on Broadway before April 23rd, the Tony Awards cutoff date.

The Public Theater's HAMILTON begins performances on Tuesday, January 20 and has been extended through March 22 with an official press opening on Tuesday, February 17. HAMILTON is now completely cast. The five final cast members are Jasmine Cephas Jones (Peggy Shuyler, Maria Reynolds); Andrew Chappelle (Swing); Alysha Deslorieux (Swing); Javier Muñoz (Hamilton Standby); and Okieriete Onaodowan (Hercules Mulligan, James Madison). YELLOW SOUND LABEL will release HERRINGBONE, the two-disc solo CD debut by Tony Award-winner BD WONG. The unique concert album marks the recording premiere of the marvelously spooky one-man Off-Broadway musical, which features book by Tom Cone, music by Skip Kennon and lyrics by Ellen Fitzhugh (based on the play by Tom Cone), with Wong playing twelve characters. It was recorded live at a special event at Dixon Place in New York City. The album - produced by Scott Lehrer with Emmy Award-winner and Grammy Award-nominee Michael Croiter (Matilda, Big Fish, Heathers) serving as executive producer and Dan Lipton as musical director and associate producer - will be available online and in stores today, December 2.
