The Gallery Players Present MRS. BOB CRATCHIT'S WILD CHRISTMAS BINGE 12/5-20

The Gallery Players proudly presents the New York premiere of Christopher Durang's Mrs. Bob Cratchit's Wild Christmas Binge. Commissioned and originally produced by City Theatre Company in Pittsburgh, The Gallery Players' Mrs. Bob Cratchit's Wild Christmas Binge features Douglas Rees, originator of the role of Scrooge, and gets a limited engagement December 5-20th, 2009.

Theatre Southwest Presents WONDER OF THE WORLD, Opens 12/31

Theatre Southwest will present their production of David Lindsey-Abaire's play, WONDER OF THE WORLD, beginning December 31st with a special New Years Gala. The show will run through January 23rd. The cast for the production will include James Reed, Stacy A. Spaeth, Ananka Kohnitz, Cheryl Tanner, Brian Heaton, Jeanette Sebesta, and John Kaiser. The show is directed by David Holloway.

A Noise Within Closes CRIME AND PUNISHMENT 12/17

A Noise Within (ANW), the critically acclaimed classical repertory theatre company, presents a new adaptation of FYODOR DOSTOYEVSKY's towering masterpiece CRIME AND PUNISHMENT created by Marilyn Campbell and Curt Columbus, which opens Saturday, October 17 and closes Thursday, December 17, 2009 (previews begin Saturday, October 10).

Village Players Theatre Announces LOST IN YONKERS, Opens 1/16/2010

The new year coincides perfectly with Village Players Theatre's season of New American Classics in it's mainstage theatre. Audiences will be touched and entertained by our first offering, 'Lost In Yonkers', the story of an American family across three generations. The show opens on Saturday, January 16th, 2010.

CIRCLE MIRROR TRANSFORMATION Returns to Playwrights Horizons, 12/15

Following an acclaimed original sold-out run, Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) proudly announces a limited return engagement of the company's recent World Premiere production of CIRCLE MIRROR TRANSFORMATION, the new hit play by Annie Baker ('An original voice' - Daily News; 'A playwright to know' - Newsday). Directed by Sam Gold ('A magic-fingered director' - Variety; 'An uncommonly observant eye and ear' - The New York Times), the original engagement opened Tuesday, October 13 to across-the-board rave reviews and was ultimately extended twice by critical and audience demand through Saturday, November 21. The return limited engagement will begin performances Tuesday, December 15 at Playwrights Horizons' Peter Jay Sharp Theater with tickets on sale through Sunday, January 17, 2010.

Kathleen Turner to Star in RED HOT PATRIOT: THE KICK-ASS WIT OF MOLLY IVINS, 3/19-4/18

Philadelphia Theatre Company announces that two-time Tony Award-nominee and film actress Kathleen Turner will star in the world premiere of Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins by Margaret Engel and Allison Engel.  Directed by award-winning director David Esbjornson, this one-woman play based on the writings of the late political journalist Molly Ivins will take the slot previously slated for Mauritius by Theresa Rebeck. 'Red Hot Patriot' runs March 19 - April 18, 2010.

BWW INTERVIEWS: A Life in the Theatre, Christi Dortch

A graduate of Nashville's Overton High School and Western Kentucky University, Christi Dortch is also one of those hard-to-find Nashville natives. With Music City serving as an entertainment mecca, attracting creative types from all over the world, Christi is homegrown, as it were, plying her trade in her hometown - and loving every minute of it. When she left to work for the Westport (Connecticut) Country Playhouse, her presence was sorely missed and her subsequent homecoming was greeted with enthusiasm by her friends, family and supporters - and TPAC patrons who have her to thank for some of their greatest theatrical experiences.
