At last night?s 25th annual Helen Hayes Awards ceremony saluting excellence in Washington, DC area theater, Signature Theatre took home the leading number of honors for the evening, receiving 39 nominations and ultimately ten awards for its theatrical work in 2008. Signature Theatre today announced that the run of its innovative new production of Les Miserables will be extended for four weeks through February 22 due to ticket demand. The environmental staging brings the beloved musical's epic scale of 28 actors, 138 costumes, a Broadway-sized 14-piece orchestra, and a five-ton steel set right into the audience's laps in the intimacy of Signature's 280-seat MAX Theatre.
Signature Theatre today announced that Andrew Call will sing the role of the student revolutionary Marius in its upcoming production of Les Misérables. He will replace Doug Kreeger, who will be performing in the new off-Broadway production of Rooms. Call recently performed in Signature's world premiere production of Glory Days, playing the role of the would-be jock Andy. Call has also performed in Cry-Baby and High Fidelity on Broadway, in Altar Boyz off-Broadway, and in national tours of Saturday Night Fever and Altar Boyz.

Will Chase will join Natascia Diaz (Spider Woman/Aurora) and Hunter Foster (Molina), playing the role of the young radical Valentin at the Signature Thetre in Arlington, VA. Kiss of the Spider Woman runs March 11 - April 20, 2008 in The Max Theatre.
Full casting has been announced for the Washington, D.C. premiere of Meet John Doe, which will be presented from March 16th through April 29th at Ford's Theatre.
