Wendy Williams is set to make her Broadway debut in the Tony Award-winning revival of Chicago, joining the long-running musical in the role of Cook County Jail's 'keeper of the keys'- Matron 'Mama' Morton. Her 7-week run will begin on June 25th and wrap up on August 11.
Currently, actress and Sirius/XM radio host Christine Pedi takes on the iconic role where she joins Chicago cast members Amy Spanger as Roxie Hart, Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly,Adam Pascal as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and R. (UMC) will launch its new Unsung Cabaret Series with Unsung Jimmy Van Heusen, an intimate evening celebrating the centennial of legendary four-time Academy Award-winning and three-time Tony Award-nominated composer Jimmy Van Heusen (Skyscraper, Walking Happy, Thoroughly Modern Millie) tonight, June 17. Hosted by Tony Award nominee Tom Wopat (A Catered Affair, Catch Me If You Can), this concert will be held at 8pm at The Cutting Room.
UnsungMusicalsCo. (UMC), in a collaboration with the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, will record three songs from the little-known 1947 musical comedy Barefoot Boy With Cheek featuring performances by Jenn Colella (Chaplin, Closer Than Ever), Max von Essen(Evita, Death Takes a Holiday) and Robert Lenzi (South Pacific, Hello Again). UMC's recordings will be released for free digital download on the New York Public Library's website as part of its Musical of the Month blog series, which recently featured UMC's reconstruction of the Barefoot Boy libretto. The musical has never received a cast album.

The grand total was announced Tuesday after six weeks of intensive fundraising for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS by 47 Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies. Four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein (Kinky Boots), two-time Academy Award winner Tom Hanks (Lucky Guy) and Grammy Award winner Cyndi Lauper (Kinky Boots) were on hand to announce the grand total at this year's Easter Bonnet Competition, which ended in two shows featuring original presentations, songs, dances and 19 intricate, custom-made bonnets.
