L.A. Theatre Works (LATW) has recorded "8," a dramatization of the legal fight against California's Proposition 8 written by Academy Award-winning screenwriter and American Foundation for Equal Rights (AFER) founding board member Dustin Lance Black, for release on audiobook and for broadcast on LATW's nationally syndicated radio theater series. Directed by Rob Reiner and featuring an all-star cast that includes Kevin Bacon, George Clooney, Jamie Lee Curtis, Christine Lahti, Jane Lynch, Brad Pitt, Martin Sheen and John C. Reilly, "8" will air on public radio stations across the U.S. this week, beginning June 9.

Sundance Institute has announced the 13 projects selected for its annual June Directors and Screenwriters Labs, taking place at the Sundance Resort in Utah from today, May 28 through June 28. A one-night-only staged reading of 8, the powerful play about the federal district court trial contesting the Proposition 8 voter ban in 2008 on same sex marriages in California, will have its New Jersey premiere at Montclair State University on Saturday, March 24 at the L. Howard Fox Theatre. The reading is set to feature: Roscoe Orman, Jamie Laverdiere, Rachel de Benedet, and Susan A. Cole, with a post show discussion with Jeff Zarrillo (moderated by Gavin Creel).
