THE AMAZING MAX to Bring Magic to NYC Over the Holidays

THE AMAZING MAX, the 'awesome and hilarious live magic show for the whole family' (PBS Kids) starring magician Max Darwin (aka 'THE AMAZING MAX') will return this holiday season for 8 performances only at the Theater at Blessed Sacrament (248 West 71st Street - just East of Broadway). Performances begin today, December 26 and continue through Wednesday, December 30.

Jacob's Pillow Sets 2016 Festival Lineup

Following the critical acclaim and record-breaking ticket sales and attendance of Festival 2015, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival announces a new season of exciting programming featuring international artists, world premieres, and an impressive number of live music engagements. This season signals an exciting new era in Pillow history, as the Board of Directors plans to name a new Jacob's Pillow Director in early 2016. Former Executive and Artistic Director Ella Baff stepped down from her role in September of 2015, following a successful 17-year tenure.

Following its successful, sold-out festival of ballet in 2013, The Joyce Theater Foundation (Linda Shelton, Executive Director) will once again present a two-week long season of America's most exciting contemporary ballet companies and choreographers. This remarkable Ballet Festival, designed to recognize dancers and choreographers who are creating work outside the traditional large company setting – and, in some cases, forming their own companies – will take place from August 4 – 16 at The Joyce Theater and feature such rising choreographers and companies as Ballet X, The Ashley Bouder Project and Joshua Beamish: MOVE the company, among others. The Joyce to Present 'Ballet v6.0' Festival in August

This August, The Joyce Theater will present Ballet v6.0, a remarkable festival designed to recognize dancers and choreographers who are creating work outside the traditional large company setting and are forming their own small companies. From August 6 - 17, some of the country's most exciting young dance companies whose works represents a range of ballet styles from neo classical to contemporary, will be presented as part of this festival at The Joyce. Philadelphia Dance Takes to the Streets with Dance/Up Dance Deck

Dance/Up, the local service organization dedicated to the regional dance community, announced the successful arrival of an innovative new portable Dance Deck. Funded in part with a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation as part of its Knight Art Challenge, the Dance Deck will be available for dance companies and dance producers around the region. Designed by the Wooden Kiwi design firm in Boston, the new innovative Dance Deck is weather-proof, inexpensive, and able to accommodate the demanding physical needs of professional dance.
