The girls with big skirts, big voices and big dreams are back with another musical trip down memory lane! Following last year's production of The Marvelous Wonderettes, Geva Theatre Center presents The Marvelous Wonderettes: Caps and Gowns. Written and created by Roger Bean with vocal and musical arrangements by Michael Borth, The Marvelous Wonderettes: Caps and Gowns is directed by Melissa Rain Anderson with musical direction by Don Kot and will be performed in the Fielding Stage from December 7 to December 24.

Director Sarah Gay has deftly manipulated this show so that it works very well in the intimate theater out in Lakeway, and she has crafted a bright, entertaining piece that is full of fun and embraces a sense of stubborn nostalgia for small town Texas.

The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas is a political satire full of flirty fun and gusto. Based on a true story, the show recounts the heyday and demise of the infamous "Chicken Ranch."

The TexARTS Professional Series presents The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, the spirited musical comedy that recounts the heyday and demise of the infamous "Chicken Ranch."  The musical by Larry L. King and Peter Masterson with music and lyrics by Carol Hall plays August 18 - September 3, 2017 at the Kam & James Morris Theatre in Lakeway.

The TexARTS Professional Series closes its 2016-17 season with Austin premier of Roger Bean's Off-Broadway hit musical, The Marvelous Wonderettes, which will be presented February 17 - 26 at the Kam & James Morris Theatre in Lakeway. 

This smash off-Broadway hit takes you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where we meet 'The Marvelous Wonderettes', four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts! As we learn about their lives and loves, the girls serenade us with classic '50s hits including 'Lollipop,' 'Dream Lover,' 'Stupid Cupid,' and 'Lipstick on Your Collar.'  In act two, the Wonderettes reunite to take the stage and perform at their ten-year reunion.

Written and created by Roger Bean with musical arrangements by Brian William Barker, orchestrations by Michael Borth and vocal arrangements by Roger Bean and Brian William Barker, The Marvelous Wonderettes is directed by Melissa Rain Anderson with musical direction by Don Kot. The Marvelous Wonderettes will be performed in the Fielding Stage from December 8 to December 24. 

Stages Repertory Theatre has announced the release of the Original Cast Album of The Marvelous Wonderettes: Dream On, featuring the original Houston cast.

THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES: DREAM ON, written and created by Roger Bean has extended its World Premiere, running now through October 16, 2016 at Stages Repertory Theatre in Houston, TX, directed and choreographed by Melissa Rain Anderson, with musical direction by Kevin David Thomas.

You can feel the standing ovation building the second they start working their way through 30 hit songs that the audience sings along with gleefully. I saw the production the second weekend, and already audience members were proclaiming to others 'This is my THIRD time!'

THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES: DREAM ON, written and created by Roger Bean will make its World Premiere from now through September 18, 2016 at Stages Repertory Theatre in Houston, TX, directed and choreographed by Melissa Rain Anderson, with musical direction by Kevin David Thomas. Opening night is tonight, August 5, 2016.
