Musical numbers for the 2009 Broadway on Broadway concert (www.broadwayonbroadway.com) were announced today by The Broadway League and The Times Square Alliance. Superior Donuts' star Michael McKean will host the 18th annual concert presented by the all new 2010 Buick LaCrosse and Continental Airlines, to be held this Sunday, September 13th at 11:30 a.m in Times Square.

In contrast to the earlier shows of the ninth Broadway by the Year season, Scott Siegel chose a year with several hit shows?and hit shows?as the season finale at Town Hall last week. 1970 is probably best known for Company and Applause, but this was also the year of Purlie and The Rothschilds, as well as one of Richard Rodgers? final musicals, Two by Two. To his credit, Siegel gave every show ample opportunity to prove its worth, offering a wide spectrum of songs and styles, nicely accompanied (as always) by Ross Patterson and his Little Big Band.

Presented by SAW Theatricals/Sarah Melissa Rotker in association with Deborah Blumenthal, Stephanie Leaf, and Phillip Pallitto, the evening took place at NYSEC's 800-seat concert hall, most recently home to the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and featured 'Bring on the Men', a song which was not heard in the Broadway production. BroadwayWorld.com's cameras snuck backstage to visit with the cast before the house lights dimmed!

Broadway Musicals of 1970 was presented by The Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street) on Monday, June 15th at 8PM. Concluding its ninth season with this concert, the critically acclaimed Broadway By The Year® series is known for great singing and spectacular Broadway dancing. The series is created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel for The Town Hall. The show was directed and choreographed by Fred Astaire Award nominee Jeffry Denman, who also performed in the show.
