54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents La-Ti-Do on September 1, 2015 at 9:30pm. La-Ti-Do is a cabaret where musical theatre and spoken word poetry collide. La-Ti-Do debuts at 54 Below featuring some of both Washington, DC and New York's finest musical and spoken word talent.
Continuing its ongoing efforts of supporting the development of new musicals and plays under its SigWorks program, Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA is currently workshopping SCKBSTD by Grammy Award-winning composer/lyricist Bruce Hornsby, lyricist Chip deMatteo and book writer Joe Calarco (Shakespeare's R&J, Walter Cronkite is Dead) based on an original book by Clay McLeod Chapman (rest area, The Tribe Trilogy). The workshop will culminate in an invitation only presentation.

The Ford's Theatre Society 2014-2015 season continues with the musical Freedom's Song: Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War, directed by Jeff Calhoun, March 13 through May 20, 2015, at the historic Ford's Theatre (511 Tenth Street NW, Washington, D.C.). A new adaptation of the Broadway musical The Civil War, Freedom's Song features the words of Abraham Lincoln and music inspired by the letters of those who lived through the Civil War. The production is part of Ford's 150: Remembering the Lincoln Assassination, a series of events marking the 150 years since Abraham Lincoln's assassination at Ford's Theatre.
