The epic robot-fighting tournament “BattleBots” is back for season two this summer on Thursday, June 23, and kicks off with a preview special entitled BATTLEBOTS: THE GEARS AWAKEN on TUESDAY, MAY 10 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT) on the ABC Television Network.

Children's Playhouse of Maryland, Inc. (CPM), in residence at the Community College of Baltimore County, Essex, goes for laughs with the musical comedy, The Addams Family in its Young Adult Series. Performances will be held on the weekends of May 7-8, 14-15 and 21-22 at 1 p.m. with one 7 p.m. show on May 14. The May 15 performance will be sign language interpreted by students of the CCBC Catonsville American Sign Language Certification program. All performances will be held in the Administration Building Lecture Hall at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Blvd. in Rosedale. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from the CCBC Box Office at 443-840-ARTS or online at www.cpmarts.org. Tickets will also be available at the door, space permitting. Advanced purchase is highly recommended. Group tickets are also available.

ProArts is proud to present the second show of its Spring season, "The Nerd", written by Larry Shue. One of the funniest plays ever written, this extraordinarily inventive, side-splitting comedy was first presented by the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, then in London, and then on Broadway. The action centers on the hilarious dilemma of a young architect who is visited by a man he's never met but who saved his life in Vietnam-the visitor turning out to be an incredibly inept, hopelessly stupid 'nerd' who outstays his welcome with a vengeance.

Children's Playhouse of Maryland, Inc. opens its spring season with the musical "James and the Giant Peach, Jr." Performances will be given on weekends March 5 through March 20 in the Lecture Hall of the Administration Building at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Blvd.  The ensemble cast includes 25 student actors from Baltimore City, Anne Arundel, Baltimore and Howard counties.  Tickets are $10 each with special group rates available. All Performances will be held in the Administration Building Lecture Hall, 7201 Rossville Blvd. The Sunday, Oct. 4, performance will be sign-language interpreted by students in the American Sign Language Certificate Program at CCBC Catonsville.  Tickets are $10 each and  can be purchased online at www.cpmarts.org or from the CCBC Box Office at 443-840-ARTS (2787) from Tuesdays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Based on availability, tickets may be purchased at the door.

“BattleBots,” the epic robot-fighting tournament, kicks off SUNDAY, JUNE 21 (9:00–10:00 p.m., ET) as the first round of next generation robots, that promise to be bigger, faster, and stronger than ever before, go head to head on the ABC Television Network.

The robot shrapnel will fly in the BattleBox this summer, with expert play-by-play analysis from veteran sports broadcaster Chris Rose, and color commentary from former UFC fighter Kenny Florian.

The multi-Grammy-nominated Manhattan School of Music AFRO-CUBAN JAZZ ORCHESTRA, conducted by Bobby Sanabria, pays tribute to LA ISLA DEL ENCANTO (PUERTO RICO) with works by Rafael Hernandez, Bobby Capo, Juan Tizol, Ricardo Pons, Eddie Palmieri, Ray Santos' monumental Puerto Rican Suite, and more! Special Guests will include members of Danza Fiesta and noted poet/performer Mariposa Fernandez.
