In honor of its 30th anniversary, the Blue Note Jazz Club is opening its doors throughout New York City during the month of June for the inaugural Blue Note Jazz Festival. More than 80 shows featuring many artists who have performed at the Blue Note for years will take the city by storm at this year's largest New York jazz festival.

The Sheldon presents Peter Martin Music: Peter Martin, solo piano, February 10, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. in the perfect acoustics of the Sheldon Concert Hall. Through the recurring Peter Martin Music: Live series, Martin showcases jazz masters past and present in an intimate and casual setting. Special Music for Lifelong Achievement Instrument Drive! MFLA and Horns to Havana have teamed up to collect and send musical instruments, both donated and purchased, to students in schools in and around Havana, Cuba. Donate a used musical instrument at any concert during February and March, or bring your donations to The Sheldon during normal business hours, Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Providing its region with a cultural attraction of world-class quality and scale, the multi-venue Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana - just outside of the state capital of Indianapolis - opened the first of its venues on January 29, 2011, with an inaugural concert at its state-of-the-art concert hall The Palladium. The Center's other venues, now under construction, will be a 200-seat studio theater (opening in March 2011) and The Tarkington, a 500-seat proscenium theater (opening in August 2011).

The GRAMMY® Award-winning Nashville Symphony continues to celebrate its triumphant return to Schermerhorn Symphony Center with the announcement of its 2011/12 season. Beginning with a special appearance by Yo-Yo Ma on September 9, 2011, and culminating with a performance of Orff's enduringly popular Carmina Burana on May 31-June 2, 2012, the season will feature a wide array of world-class guest artists, including banjoist Béla Fleck, electric violinist Tracy Silverman, vocalists Wynonna and Kathy Mattea, trumpeter Chris Botti, guitarist Larry Carlton and The Cleveland Orchestra. One very special highlight for the orchestra will be a performance at Carnegie Hall on Saturday, May 12, 2012. Details will be announced in mid-February.

He delivers this month with the simultaneous release, on January 25, of two new and very different CDs on his Bebob imprint-'Bob Ya Head,' an intriguing foray into world music and electronica (with Darryl 'Munyungo' Jackson, Marcus Belgrave, and Karriem Riggins), and 'Unrehurst Vol. 2,' a 2007 all-acoustic trio date recorded at Smoke in New York City (with Robert Glasper and Chris 'Daddy' Dave).
