Five-time Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and keyboardist Michael McDonald lends his husky, soulful baritone to Pacific Symphony Pops for a concert featuring hits from his chart-topping career spanning more than four decades. From his 1970s beginnings singing back-up vocals with American rock band Steely Dan on songs including 'Black Friday,' to enhancing the funky R&B sound of The Doobie Brothers, to his award-winning solo career, McDonald has established himself as a timeless yet distinctive artist in pops music. One of the most popular vocalists to emerge from the '70s rock scene, McDonald commands the stage with his distinctive interpretations of classics like 'What a Fool Believes,' 'On My Own,' 'Sweet Freedom,' 'I Keep Forgettin',' 'Minute by Minute' and 'Yah Mo B There.' The Houston Symphony's April calendar provides several unique treats that are sure to excite Houston audiences. Conductor Laureate Hans Graf will return to the podium to lead the orchestra in Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet on April 10, 12 and 13, followed directly by Music Director Designate Andrés Orozco-Estrada's return to conduct Bronfman Play Beethoven 4 onApril 17, 18 and 19.

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Mary Chapin Carpenter will make her Los Angeles Philharmonic and Walt Disney Concert Hall debuts on Saturday, February 8, 2014, in a one-night-only performance featuring songs from her first orchestral album, Songs From The Movie, released on January 14, 2014. Joining Carpenter are some of the collaborators from Songs From The Movie, including six-time Grammy-winner Vince Mendoza (Sting, Diana Krall, Chris Botti, Elvis Costello, Bjork, Joni Mitchell), who will be conducting the LA Phil, Peter Erskine (Weather Report, John Abercrombie, Rod Stewart, Michael Buble, Joni Mitchell, Diana Krall) on drums, and Matt Rollings (Keith Urban, Lyle Lovett) on piano.

Her "Back To Brooklyn" concert DVD has reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top DVD Music Videos chart. Achieving that distinction with the Columbia Records release, Streisand has now topped the DVD charts five times. Her success in the DVD field also includes having earned nine Gold DVDs, six Platinum and three Multi-Platinum.
