Flux Theatre Ensemble presents August Schulenberg's 'Honey Fist', a thoughtful and comic play about old friends and their secrets.

Flux Theatre Ensemble will present the NYC Premiere of Johnna Adams' (The Angel Eaters Trilogy with Flux; 2011 recipient of the Princess Grace Award) Sans Merci and the World Premiere of August Schulenburg's (DEINDE; Lesser Seductions of History) Honey Fist in rep at the 4th Street Theatre (83 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery) April 26-May 18. Performances for Sans Merci will be on 4/26, 4/28, 4/29, 5/3, 5/5, 5/7, 5/8, 5/11, 5/16, & 5/17 at 7:30pm and 4/27, 5/4, & 5/12 at 2:30pm. Honey Fist will run 4/30, 5/1, 5/2, 5/4, 5/9, 5/10, 5/12, 5/14, 5/15, & 5/18 at 7:30pm and 5/5, 5/11, & 5/18 at 2:30pm. Get to Everyman Theatre if you want to see something completely different, something completely captivating, something almost surreal in theater. The Brothers Size, by Tarell Alvin McCraney, is a play about two brothers living in the mystic bayou of Louisiana.

Things aren't always the way they look, and they might not be anything like you think, unless you can see them from the other side.

The concept of Ajax in Iraq by Ellen McLaughlin is one that instantly intrigues. Taking the classic Sophocles legend and drawing parallels to the war in Iraq certainly raises an eyebrow or two. That being said, even though I am sure this play is an engaging read, when put into the hands of the masterful Flux Theatre Ensemble it becomes all encompassing. Flux has chosen to call it's current season of theatre 'Don't Look Away' and this very accurately describes the inner monologue of the audience at this fascinating production. It's rare to have an experience at the theatre that won't let you go, but this is one of those occasions.
