The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present 'Show Biz After Hours With Frank DiLella,' a new talk/variety show hosted by the popular NY1 theater journalist. The first 'episode' took place on Monday, October 26, and Frank's guests included Laura Osnes and Corey Cott (the stars of THE BANDSTAND at Paper Mill Playhouse), original JERSEY BOY Daniel Reichard, Ali Stroker (one of the stars of SPRING AWAKENING) and the Tony nominated star of LEGALLY BLONDE, Orfeh. Qurrat Ann Kadwani, author and star of the Off-Broadway hit play THEY CALL ME Q, served as Panel Facilitator at the Champion of Change Awards presented by World Women Global Council Inc. on August 15th at the United Nations. Honorees at the event included Marie C. Wilson, founder & president emerita of The White House Project; NY1's Cheryl Wills; Roxana Saberi, journalist for Al Jazeerra; and Reshma Saujani, founder of Girl's Who Code.

As part of Autism Awareness Month, Cassandra Kubinski will launch her newest video 'Not So Different,' with a family friendly concert at St. John's Lutheran Church (81 Christopher St, NYC) on Sunday, April 6 at 6PM. Tickets are FREE but donations will be accepted for Autism related charities, this event's featured charity is Music For Autism (www.musicforautism.org). The evening will consist of a screening of 'Not So Different' and Q&A with the creators, followed by a short concert with singer/songwriter Cassandra Kibinski.

This week, noted New York based photographer Javier Gomez is taking the art out of the frame. On Sunday, Feb. 9 at Mercedes New York Fashion Week, internationally renowned Brazilian designer Alessandra Meskita will be using Javier's work as a major inspiration for her collection as the major part of her show at Lincoln Center.

MOTOWN THE MUSICAL hosted a nationwide open call casting search inside the historic Lunt Fontanne Theatre for African American singers for both the flagship Broadway production and the upcoming national tour. NY1 anchor Cheryl Wills was on hand to capture the excitement as hopefuls lined up around the block to audition for the smash hit musical. In the segment below, Wills speaks with MOTOWN's own Broadway star Tony Award nominee Charl Brown, casting director Bernie Telsey, several auditionees, and even does a little singing of her own!
