KC Jazz Orchestra Announces 2021-2022 Season at the Kauffman Center

Kansas City Jazz Orchestra Executive Director Lea Petrie today announced the 2021-2022 season which includes the much-anticipated performances of Bird Lives and Hallelujah Holidays. All performances will be held at the Helzberg Hall of the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts (1601 Broadway, KCMO 64108).

Free performances will feature distinctly New York genres including hip-hop, Latin, indie rock, contemporary dance, and global, and will also include a celebration of jazz at the annual Charlie Parker Jazz Festival. Artists, performance schedules, and free ticket reservation details will be announced at a later date.

Today American Lyric Theater has announced the Opera Writers Diversity and Representation Initiative as part of an ongoing commitment to mentoring the next generation of operatic writers. First steps include the appointment of conductor Kelly Kuo as ALT’s new Associate Artistic Director and the creation of a free, virtual Opera Writers Symposium.
