New York City Center will present the New York premiere of Matthew Bourne's acclaimed Sleeping Beauty for a limited engagement, October 23 - November 3, 2013, at City Center (West 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues). Tickets will go on sale on March 25.

Resorts World Manila (RWM), a one-stop entertainment and tourism destination, brings to the stage its third Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II's production, “Cinderella,” which opens at Newport Performing Arts Theatre on Wednesday, October 9. According to RWM, “Cinderella” is bound to enchant Filipino audiences anew with its beautifully crafted sets and “Marie Antoinette-ish” costumes.

San Francisco Ballet, the oldest professional ballet company in America, has announced that it will perform at New York's Lincoln Center at the David H. Koch Theater, October 16-27, 2013. From October 16-20, the Company will present a variety of mixed-bill programs with works by Edwaard Liang, Serge Lifar, Wayne McGregor, Mark Morris, Alexei Ratmansky, SF Ballet Artistic Director & Principal Choreographer Helgi Tomasson, Yuri Possokhov, and Christopher Wheeldon. In my next life, I'm returning as the world's foremost dance historian to write the ultimate chronicle of Tchailovsky's Sleeping Beauty from 1890 to 2013. It's going to be a huge tome, one that encompasses every move, scene shift and cast change that was ever seen. Actually, by the time I finish my epic work, it will be superseded by an even larger tome, but that's life. What led me to this decision was American Ballet Theater's production of Sleeping Beauty that I saw on the July 6, 2012, the closing night of the season. This sent me back to my books, DVDs, CDs, balletomane friends and YouTube to decide just what Sleeping Beauty is all about, or should be about.

Cinderella, the only musical written by the legendary team of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II especially for television, is now on Broadway for the first time. In 'A New Take on Cinderella,' librettist Douglas Carter Beane, actors Victoria Clark and Ann Harada (the Fairy Godmother and stepsister Charlotte), and producer Robyn Goodman trace the show's long journey from its inception in 1957 to today in an all-new THEATER TALK, premiering at 1 a.m. on Friday, March 29 (2013; early Saturday morning) on Thirteen/PBS, and continues in New York City on CUNY TV* Saturday at 8:30 PM, Sunday at 12:30 PM, and Monday at 7:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 7:30 PM.

Sleeping Beauty sees Bourne return to the music of Tchaikovsky to complete the trio of the composer's ballet masterworks that started in 1992 with Nutcracker! and continued in 1995 with the international hit Swan Lake. City Center presented a limited-run production of Swan Lake in 2010.

Gamut Theatre Group's Popcorn Hat Players present CINDERELLA written by Sean Adams, an original work based on the traditional folk tale by French author Charles Perrault. Performances are Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 2:30 and 7:30 at Whitaker Center's Sunoco Theatre in Downtown Harrisburg. The much-beloved folk tale has been adapted into a full-length play performed by students, ages 6 through 18.
