Theatre Aspen announced final casting for its 30th summer season this week. The summer repertory season includes the Tony Award-winning epic Les Miserables, opening June 25th, the one-man comedy Fully Committed, opening July 6th and You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, which opens July 12th. A new Theatre Aspen Apprentice Program was announced today. The award-winning Equity theatre will invite ten aspiring theatre professionals to Aspen for an entire summer, to work alongside professionals in all aspects of theatre production. Theatre Aspen supporters and Aspen residents Jessica and John Fullerton will underwrite the program for its first three years. In January, the organization was named "Non Profit of the Year" in the region with hundreds of local not-for-profits.

Theatre Aspen today announced the completion of their two-year, $2MM capital campaign, which supported the building of the new Hurst Theatre and lobby, and significant upgrades to the grounds. This work was undertaken in partnership with the Aspen City Parks Department, as part of a larger renovation to the John Denver Sanctuary in the Rio Grande Park, within which the theatre resides.
