The Hollywood Museum in partnership with Los Angeles City Councilmember Mitch O'Farrell will present REAL TO REEL LIVE (VIRTUAL EDITION 2020). Michael Feinstein will be receiving the Inspiration Award, and Kristin Chenoweth will be appearing as a special guest.

Utah Shakespeare Festival And Royal Academy Of Dramatic Art Announce Artistic Exchange Program

The Utah Shakespeare Festival and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) recently announced a five-year artistic exchange program, bringing RADA graduates and student productions to the annual Utah Shakespeare Festival, as well as training workshops for students, faculty and staff in both Utah and London. The five-year collaboration began Jan. 1, 2020 and will continue through Dec. 31, 2024, based on financial support from an anonymous donor.

Full Casting Announced For LA CAGE AUX FOLLES [THE PLAY] At Park Theatre

Casting has been confirmed for the English language World Premiere of La Cage aux Folles [The Play]. Jean Poiret's seminal classic spawned four blockbuster films and a Tony Award-winning musical. This new translation of the heartfelt farce by theatrical legend Simon Callow will star Michael Matus (Richard III a?" National Theatre and Headlong Theatre Tour, and King Lear a?" The Duke of York's Theatre) in the role of Georges and Paul Hunter (Founder of Told by an Idiot) as Albin. The cast is completed by Sarah Lam, Syrus Lowe, Peter Straker, Mark Cameron, Arthur Hughes, Simon Hepworth, Louise Bangay, Georgina Ambrey and William Nelson. It will be directed by Park Theatre's Artistic Director, Jez Bond, with a national press night on Wednesday 19th February at 7pm.

Lily Tomlin, upon accepting her award, remarked 'My partner Jane and I are honored and want to thank you for this award. It is amazing to see this whole outpouring for the LGBT community. Jane, couldnt be here tonight, but asked that I share her remarks 'We love the thought of being called Trail-Blazers. It makes us feel current and something out of Marvel Comics.'  Neither of us has a good sense of direction, so we thought being called trail-blazers implies that we somehow new where we were going. So thank you for thinking of us as trail-blazers, rather than as museum pieces.  Of course, there were times, Im afraid, we got lost on that trail and were more bewildered than blazing.  We are still blazing, but we have had to cool down a bit. After all, we need to take care not to add to global warming.'

Great Lakes Theater (GLT), Cleveland's Classic Company, commences the second half its 2018-19 season with Agatha Christie's gripping courtroom thriller, Witness for the Prosecution. The production will be performed in the company's intimate and audience-friendly home at the Hanna Theatre, Playhouse Square, February 15 - March 10, 2019. Great Lakes Theater's own Producing Artistic Director, Charles Fee, directs the production.

Brian Selznick's books, including Wonderstruck and The Invention of Hugo Cabret, are cabinets of wonder, drawing us into their magical tales with child-eyed awe. Both novels drew upon cinematic influences for both story and visual style. On the occasion of the new movie adaptation of Wonderstruck, directed by Todd Haynes, Museum of the Moving Image will present the screening series Inspiring Wonderstruck, featuring some of the movies that inspired both the book and the movie, from October 13 through 22, 2017. On October 14, during the opening weekend of the series, the Museum will present a preview screening of Wonderstruck with Selznick, production designer Mark Friedberg, and costume designer Sandy Powell in person, followed by a book signing with Selznick.

The fourth annual "REAL to REEL: Portrayals and Perceptions of LGBTQs in Hollywood" exhibit, in partnership with Los Angeles City Council member Mitch O'Farrell, is an educational, entertaining and informative retrospective of LGBTQ images in film, TV, new digital platforms featuring costumes, props, photos, and iconic imagery all telling the story of the milestones and influence that LGBTQ characters and plot lines have had in Hollywood from early stereotypes to modern-day representations.
