ACT Announces Shows for December 2015-March 2016

ACT - A Contemporary Theatre announces the winter shows that will close out its 50th year and carry over into the debut season of Artistic Director John Langs. In December, ACT presents the 40th Anniversary Production of A Christmas Carol and the merry Ham for the Holidays: Who's Afraid of Virginia Ham? by Lisa Koch and Peggy Platt. Also in December, ACT celebrates the achievements of all the playwrights in the 2015 Young Playwrights Program and presents As You Like It, directed by ACT's Kenan Directing Fellow Wiley Basho Gorn.

Kathleen Turner Stars as 'Scrooge' in A CHRISTMAS CAROL Tonight at The Greene Space

Performances of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, a radio drama inspired by the Charles Dickens classic, have become a beloved holiday tradition at The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space at WNYC and WQXR. This year, for the first time, the legendary role of Scrooge will be played by a woman -- acclaimed Golden Globe-winning actress Kathleen Turner.

Opening night at the Pabst Theatre this December celebrated the 40th Anniversary of Milwaukee Rep's A Christmas Carol. DICKENS'S CHRISTMAS CAROL Moves to Historic Christ Church in Tarrytown Tonight

Master storyteller Jonathan Kruk will offer dramatic performances of Dickens's 'Christmas Carol' on December weekends at the historic Christ Episcopal Church in Tarrytown, where Washington Irving served as a vestryman.   Complete with musical accompaniment, Kruk brings to life the classic Charles Dickens story of Ebenezer Scrooge and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. Performances take place today and Sunday Dec. 5-6, 12-13, and 19-20, at 3:30, 4:45, and 6pm (Dec. 20 at 6 and 7:15 only).

The Player's Ring's A CHRISTMAS CAROL Begins Tonight

Starting today, December 4th, the Players' Ring continues its holiday tradition with their local adaptation of Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol. The show runs from tonight, December 4 to December 23, with shows on Thursdays at 7 pm, Fridays at 8PM, Saturdays at 3PM and 8PM, and Sundays at 3PM and 7 PM (please see our full schedule online).
