Performances of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, a radio drama inspired by the Charles Dickens classic, have become a beloved holiday tradition at The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space at WNYC and WQXR. This year, for the first time, the legendary role of Scrooge will be played by a woman -- acclaimed Golden Globe-winning actress Kathleen Turner.

Beloved WNYC and WQXR hosts and on-air talent will round out the cast, including WQXR's Jeff Spurgeon, Terrance McKnight and Annie Bergen, and WNYC's John Schaefer, Jami Floyd, Jessica Gould, Brooke Gladstone, Richard Hake, Julian Fleisher and Sean Rameswaram. Ira Flatow (host of NPR's Science Friday) and eleven year-old actor Payton Lusk, who will play Tiny Tim, will also participate.

Fred Newman of A Prairie Home Companion returns to provide his signature sound effects. Composer/pianist John Forster and electro-acoustic violist and composer Martha Mooke once again provide musical accompaniment. The piece is directed by Elliott Forrest.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL: A RADIO DRAMA will be presented tonight, December 8, 2015, at 5:00pm and 7:00pm at The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space, 44 Charlton Street, New York, NY (corner of Varick Street). Tickets: $45 includes complimentary hot cider and sweet treat. Tickets, live video webcasts of each performance, and video streaming on demand are available at www.thegreenespace.org.
