The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today THE SHORTEST DAY (LE JOUR LE PLUS COURT), an international event celebrating French short films on the shortest day of the year, December 21st at 3PM, coordinated by The Centre National de la Cinematographie et de l'image animée (CNC). The screenings are supported by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, and the Institut Français and will be FREE to the public at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center's Amphitheater.

According to an Equity casting notice, Kathie Lee Gifford, David Friedman and David Pomeranz new musical, THE AIMEE PROJECT will open on Broadway sometime this fall at a theater to be announced. According to the notice, David Armstrong will helm, alongside Joel Fram as the musical director and Lorin Latarro as the choreographer. Rehearsals are listed as beginning in September of 2012.

On view from today, May 17 through August 12, 2012, the installation Industry/Cinema is a split-screen work that juxtaposes images from industrial films and popular films made between 1896 and 1991. With specialized dual-channel headphones, visitors are able to toggle between the soundtracks, creating an ever-changing interplay between sound and image as they take an illuminating journey through film history.

The exhibition unites the Guggenheim Foundation's remarkable collections in New York and Venice in order to trace the origins of the museum and capture the spirit and dynamism of the European avant-garde.
