The Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO) presents 'LACO @ The Movies Celebrates Walt Disney Animation Studios,' an extraordinary evening of musical world premieres and eye-popping animation spanning more than 80 years with orchestral scores performed live by Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, led by six-time Emmy Award-winning composer Mark Watters, on Saturday, June 13, 2015, 7 pm, at The Theatre at Ace Hotel, an historic movie palace in Downtown LA.

The New York Philharmonic will pay tribute to the 125th anniversary of the birth of film legend and auteur Charlie Chaplin, as well as to the 100th birthday of his most famous character, The Little Tramp, in 'Charlie Chaplin's Modern Times: The Tramp at 100,' September 19-20, 2014, conducted by Timothy Brock in his Philharmonic debut. The program is part of the second season of THE ART OF THE SCORE: Film Week at the Philharmonic, which opens with the previously announced La Dolce Vita: The Music of Italian Cinema, led by Music Director Alan Gilbert (today and tomorrow, September 16-17).

The 27th Tokyo International Film Festival has just announced at the press conference to hold a special screening on October 27 for the first time in cooperation with Kabukiza, a hub that conveys Japanese traditional culture to the world. Charles Chaplin, 'the king of comedy,' still attracts people 100 years after his screen debut. Kabukiza opened to the public for the first time in 1889, the year of his birth. Chaplin responded with enthusiasm and excitement to every aspect of Japanese culture, in particular kabuki.

The New York Philharmonic will present the second season of THE ART OF THE SCORE: Film Week at the Philharmonic September 16-20, 2014, offering two concert programs of film music - La Dolce Vita: The Music of Italian Cinema and Charlie Chaplin's Modern Times: The Tramp at 100 - that highlight some of the genre's most distinctive uses of music. Music Director Alan Gilbert opens the New York Philharmonic's 2014-15 season on September 16 with the Opening Gala Concert, La Dolce Vita: The Music of Italian Cinema, with special guest Martin Scorsese, Oscar-winning director and film preservation proponent, who will deliver welcoming and introductory remarks. Award-winning actor, Philharmonic Board Member, and Philharmonic Radio Host Alec Baldwin returns as Artistic Advisor of THE ART OF THE SCORE.

Sundance Institute will present the Sundance NEXT FEST summer festival August 7-10 in Los Angeles, headquartered at the Theatre at the Ace Hotel and offering feature and short film screenings, some paired with live music performances and all celebrating the renegade spirit of independent artists. The event is an extension of the popular NEXT <=> section at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, which showcases stylistically adventurous and bold films, and builds on the Institute's NEXT WEEKEND event, hosted in 2013. The Sundance Film Festival programming staff will select films and music acts for NEXT FEST. The festival is supported by Principal sponsors Acura and YouTube.

El Complejo Teatral de Buenos Aires y la Fundacion Cinemateca Argentina, con el auspicio y la colaboracion del Institut Francais Argentine, Unifrance Films y el Festival Internacional de Cine de Mar del Plata, han organizado un ciclo denominado Pierre Etaix, redescubrir a un genioque se llevara a cabo del martes 19 al domingo 24 de noviembre en la Sala Leopoldo Lugones del Teatro San Martin (Avenida Corrientes 1530). The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today THE SHORTEST DAY (LE JOUR LE PLUS COURT), an international event celebrating French short films on the shortest day of the year, December 21st at 3PM, coordinated by The Centre National de la Cinematographie et de l'image animée (CNC).
