Due to an illness, Daniel Reichard will replace Hunter Bell as Ted Casablanca and Mel in the one-night-only benefit performance of VALLEY OF THE DOLLS tonight, March 15, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. This stage adaptation of the 1967 film will take place at the Gerald W. Michael Urie (from TV's "Ugly Betty") is Rudi Gernreich. Arnie Burton (an original cast member of Broadway's "39 Steps") joins the cast in multiple roles. Rounding out the cast of five multiple talented actors are Matthew Schneck, and Sam Breslin Wright. The critically acclaimed hit show is directed by Jonathan Silverstein. Theater for the New City is pleased to announce that Charles Busch's new comedy THE DIVINE SISTER will play a limited premiere showcase engagement at Theater for the New City's Cino Theater (155 First Avenue). The developmental production, directed by Busch's longtime collaborator Carl Andress (The Third Story; Die, Mommie, Die!) will play a limited engagement of 24 performances from Saturday, February 6 through Sunday, March 7.

The A.C.T. Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) Program and Young Conservatory present the world premiere production of Riot, celebrated Irish playwright Ursula Rani Sarma's hard-hitting play, in the newest commission from A.C.T.'s international partnership with Britain's Theatre Royal Bath. Directed by Young Conservatory Director Craig Slaight and featuring young actors from the A.C.T. M.F.A. Program and Young Conservatory, Riot follows the story of a young man who lands in a residency clinic for emotionally disturbed teens following an unexpected act of violence. Riot weaves Max's relationships with his fellow patients, his doctor, and his nurses into a moving portrait of the deep human need for connection. The Pulitzer Prize and Obie Award-winning Theatre for the New City (TNC) held its 7th Annual LOVE 'N' COURAGE Gala on Monday, February 22nd at the National Arts Club, this year honoring the beloved acting couple Eli Wallach and Anne Jackson, as well as Martha Coigney, director of the International Theatre Institute (ITI) in the U.S. for over 35 years. The renowned actors/playwright Charles Busch hosted.
