Resident professional theatre company Festival Stage of Winston-Salem will return to downtown's Hanesbrands Theatre for its third season in 2012-13, presenting the Southern comedy The Last Night of Ballyhoo; North Carolina's first production of the drama 33 Variations; and the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Proof. The final production of the current season, Hatchetman, takes place May 11-27.

Yesterday, May 24, Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein hosted a special Birthday party on to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Little / Helen Hayes Theatre, which opened on March 12, 1912 with John Galsworthy's play The Pigeon. THE LYONS, which debuted last fall at the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning Vineyard Theatre, officially opened last night, April 23, at the Cort Theatre. Previews began on April 5. THE LYONS comes to Broadway with its entire original cast: Linda Lavin and Dick Latessa along with Michael Esper, Kate Jennings Grant, Brenda Pressley and Gregory Wooddell. Mark Brokaw directs.

Stars of both stage and screen joined the celebration when the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning Vineyard Theatre honored Tony Award-winner Linda Lavin at the Off-Broadway company's annual Gala on Monday, March 12 at the Hudson Theater in Manhattan. Ms. Lavin made her Vineyard Theatre debut earlier this season in the critically acclaimed production of Nicky Silver's play THE LYONS and will again star in THE LYONS when the play moves to Broadway next month starting April 5 at the Cort Theatre.

Last night, September 12, FOLLIES opened on Broadway at the Marquis Theatre. Performances began on Sunday, August 7th for James Goldman and Stephen Sondheim's FOLLIES, directed by Eric Schaeffer, with choreography by Warren Carlyle and music direction by James Moore. Producers Roger Berlind, The Routh Frankel Baruch Viertel Group, Roy Furman, Debra Black, Ted Hartley, Roger Horchow, David Ian, Scott Rudin and Jack Viertel present a new Broadway production of the great American musical Gypsy, starring Tony Award winner Patti LuPone. Gypsy will reunite LuPone with co-stars Boyd Gaines and Laura Benanti.
