Newcomer Michael Campayno has landed the role of Rolf in the live NBC production of 'The Sound of Music' starring Carrie Underwood.

After an exhaustive nationwide search, seven talented young actors have won the coveted roles of the von Trapp children in NBC's musical production of 'The Sound of Music Live!' Check out a photo of the new cast members below!

On Dec. 3 Sony Masterworks will release the companion soundtrack to NBC's live broadcast of 'The Sound of Music,' based on the classic stage musical. The three-hour live production, starring six-time Grammy Award winner Carrie Underwood as Maria von Trapp, will air Dec. 5. This week the team is recording THE SOUND OF MUSIC cast album. The Astoria Performing Arts Center (APAC), recipient of the 2012 Caffe Cino Fellowship Award from the Innovative Theatre Foundation, has announced their 13th season will include a world premiere play by Sandy Rustin (Rated P (for Parenthood)) THE COTTAGE, directed by Adam Dannheisser (Rock of Ages, resident director), and Rodgers and Hammerstein's ALLEGRO, directed by Artistic Director Tom Wojtunik. APAC's performance venue is located at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 30-44 Crescent St (@30th Rd), in Astoria, Queens. ELF, based upon the hit movie starring Will Ferrell, returned to Broadway this holiday season at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on November 9, 2012. He will be joined by Leslie Kritzer (Sondheim on Sondheim, A Catered Affair) as 'Jovie' and Mitchell Sink as 'Michael' in his Broadway debut.

Maplewood, NJ is a Rockwell-esque little nook where theatre people with families hideaway beneath the oak trees. Three years ago, when baby #2 made his appearance, my husband and I took a deep breath and plunged our lives, head first, into this quaint suburban haven. (Full disclosure, I cried in my cross-over vehicle as we waved goodbye to a decade of memories in our Upper West Side apartment).

Midtown Direct Rep will hold a concert event on October 1, 2012. Titled 'Broadway's Night Off.' The event will include a Broadway themed silent auction followed by a special concert performed by Midtown Direct Rep's company members, all of whom are veteran Broadway performers. Performers include Maplewood and South Orange Broadway pros, Ron Bohmer (Phantom of the Opera), Catherine Brunell (Mary Poppins), Michelle Federer (Wicked), Becky Gulsvig (Legally Blonde), and many more (performers subject to change).
