James Goldman's modern classic comic drama, The Lion in Winter, takes to the stage of the Heritage Center Theatre in Morrisville, Pennsylvania for the holiday season.

James Goldman's modern classic dramatic comedy set in 1183 as England's King Henry II observes Christmas at his castle with his estranged and imprisoned wife, Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine, their three sons (Richard, Geoffrey and John), King Philip II and his half-sister, Alais, who is engaged to Richard while being King Henry's mistress. 

The San Diego State University MFA Musical Theatre Program has launched an innovative two-year development program dedicated to fostering the creation of new musicals. The SDSU MFA New Musical Initiative was conceived with the idea of helping musical theatre writers develop a new work through a two-year process including a reading (fall 2018), a workshop (spring 2019) and a full production (spring 2020).

The Drama League (Executive Artistic Director Gabriel Stelian-Shanks) has announced the eleven exceptional stage directors who have been selected as the 2017 Directing Fellows of The Drama League Directors Project.

In this much-loved comedy, shipwrecked Viola disguises herself as a man, falls in love with the duke she serves, and is wooed by a titled lady. Meanwhile, a gaggle of bawdy retainers torment the pompous butler. Hilarity ensues, of course.

The Drama League has announced the theater directors and ensembles chosen to develop new plays and musicals as part of the 2017 Drama League Artist Residency Program.

ActorsNET presents CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF from June 3 to 19  at the Heritage Center Theater, 635 N. Once in a while you see an actor whose performance just blows you away. That happened when I saw A.R. Gurney's Far East for the third time and Vanessa Kai was cast as The Reader. A few years later I saw her perform in the physically demanding and emotionally wrenching two-person show, An Infinite Ache, about a couple who meet, marry and grow old together.
