Primary Stages (Casey Childs, Founder & Executive Producer; Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director; Elliot Fox, Managing Director) continues its 27th season with the world premiere of the new play, Rx, written by Kate Fodor.

The Carlyle Hotel's legendary Café Carlyle just kicked off a concert series last night, January 10, featuring Tony winner Paulo Szot. Szot will ring in the New Year with an all new program in a three-week return engagement through January 28 with Billy Stritch, Musical Director.

Directed by Ethan McSweeny (Gore Vidal's The Best Man, Sabina in 2005 at Primary Stages) the cast features Michael Bakkensen (Noises Off, Festen), Marylouise Burke (Fuddy Meers, Into The Woods, Is He Dead?), Marin Hinkle ("Two and a Half Men", Electra), Stephen Kunken (Rock 'n' Roll, Frost/Nixon), Paul Niebanck (In the Next Room…, Shockheaded Peter), and Elizabeth Rich (Cherry Orchard, A Tale of Two Cities). Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA), the company's professional training school, has announced its Spring 2012 schedule of classes now open for enrollment. ESPA will offer new classes including Musical Theater Repertoire, Dialects Intensive, Advanced Scene Study: Chekhov in a Contemporary Climate, Musical Theater Collaboration, Directing and Producing for Film, Singing for the Non-Singer, and Solo Performance. Primary Stages will host the Fifth Annual New York One-Minute Play Festival, the proceeds from which will benefit the Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA).

Casting has been announced for the Fifth Annual New York One-Minute Play Festival, hosted by Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters. The New York One-Minute Play Festival will take place Sunday, October 16 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street), the Off-Broadway home of Primary Stages. Seating is extremely limited.

The annual Primary Stages November Night to Remember Gala, a fundraiser benefiting the extensive artistic development programs offered by the company, will be held at the Edison Ballroom (240 west 47th Street, between Broadway & 8th Avenue) on Wednesday, November 9, 2011. Cocktail Reception and Silent Auction begin at 6:30 p.m. Broadway producer David Richenthal (Pulitzer winners The Kentucky Cycle, The Young Man from Atlanta, I am my Own Wife) serves as the Event Chair.
