Lifetime's THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL adaptation scored a number of 2014 Emmy nominations, including 'Best TV Movie,' and Cicely Tyson for her role. In honor of its nods, BWW is taking a look back at the production!

Hackmatack Playhouse producer Michael Guptill has announced the 2014 (43rd year) show schedule for this summer. According to Guptill, 'We hope you plan to join us this summer. We have 'Arsenic and Old Lace,' 'The Music Man,' Monty Python's Spamalot,' and 'The Trip to Bountiful.'

Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks is a touching and human comedy about a formidable retired woman, Lily Harrison, who hires an acerbic dance instructor, Michael Minetti, to give her private dance lessons -one per week for six weeks- in her gulf-front condo in St. Petersburg Beach, Florida. What begins as an antagonistic relationship blossoms into an intimate friendship as these two people from very different backgrounds reveal their secrets, fears, and joys while dancing the Swing, Tango, Waltz, Foxtrot, Cha-Cha, and Contemporary Dance. Michael and Lily learn to overcome their outward differences and discover an unlikely but profound connection. By the final lesson, Lily shares with Michael her most closely guarded secret and he shares with her his greatest gifts, his loyalty and compassion. A comedy with music and dance, the play also addresses the serious issues of ageism and intolerance.

Vanessa Williams and Blair Underwood will join Cicely Tyson in the critically acclaimed, Tony-nominated Broadway revival of Horton Foote's American masterpiece 'The Trip to Bountiful,' which will be presented in the exclusive Center Theatre Group engagement at the Ahmanson Theatre, September 17 through November 2, 2014. The opening is set for September 26.

A Coffin in Egypt stars mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade, one of opera's most beloved figures, whose formidable bravura has won her wide acclaim. Ricky Ian Gordon, the composer, has also composed The Grapes of Wrath, Rappahannock County, and Orpheus and Euridice. Leonard Foglia, librettist and director, directed Master Class on Broadway and Jake Heggie's Opera Last Acts.

Capital Stage continues its ninth season, THE HOMEFRONT: A Season of Soul-Stirring Plays, with the 2013 Pulitzer Prize finalist 4000 MILES by Amy Herzog. This humorous yet honest play grapples themes of family and grief with wit and spontaneity. Capital Stage's production will be directed by Carolyn Howarth, will feature Dee Maaske a twenty-one year veteran of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and will run from today, March 12, 2014 through April 13, 2014, with a press opening on March 15.
