It's been 30 years since Claude-Michel Schönberg &Alain Boublil's phenomenon of a musical opened in London. LES MISERABLES originally opened in London at the Barbican Theatre on October 8, 1985. It transferred to the Palace Theatre on 4 December 1985 where it ran for 19 years before moving to its current home at the Queen's Theatre on 3 April 2004 where it has already played for 11 years and looks set to at least equal the run at the Palace Theatre as it is still playing to standing room only. When Les Miserables celebrated its 21st London birthday on 8 October 2006, it became the World's Longest Running Musical, surpassing the record previously held by Cats in London's West End.

LES MISERABLES London Celebrates 30th Anniversary With Online Ticket Lottery and Original Cast, Oct. 8 - Colm Wilkinson, Alfie Boe, Frances Ruffelle and More!

On Thursday 8 October 2015, the West End production of 'LES MISERABLES' at the Queen's Theatre continues to make history as it celebrates its 30th anniversary with a very special performance starting at 7.00pm. 450 tickets for this performance will be available to the fans through a mobile lottery and a charity auction to raise money for the Save the Children Syria Children's Appeal. Audience members wishing to attend this historic musical event will have the opportunity to enter the mobile lottery or auction by visiting lesmis.com/30 which will be live from 12.00 noon on Friday 25 September 2015.

Cheltenham Literature Festival Announces Full Lineup, Including Matthew Bourne

For culture lovers, there's really only one place to be this autumn and that's The Times and The Sunday Times Cheltenham Literature Festival. Running from Friday till Sunday, October 2-11 the Festival boasts speakers as diverse as Ronnie Wood, Martha Lane Fox, Matthew Bourne, George the Poet, Garry Kasparov, Jeanette Winterson, Nick Clegg, Nigel Mansell, Carrie Hope Fletcher, Nick Frost, Nigella Lawson, Bill Bryson and Gino D'Acampo.

Football Pro Dennis Wise Offers Tips to Casts of West End's LES MIZ, PHANTOM

Former Chelsea and England footballer Dennis Wise joined cast members from Les Miserables and The Phantom of the Opera on stage at The Queen's Theatre to give some footballing tips prior to their final showdown match on 2nd August at Bromley Football Club. The match sees the two giants of the West End, Les Miserables and The Phantom of the Opera, leaving the West End stage behind and heading down to Bromley Arena, not for a singing show down, but for a football match. Following on the success of the last two years they are planning a third and final MAD Match to see who will be the ultimate champion! The match, played to raise funds for the Make A Difference Trust, promises to be a mix of football and fun for all.

Kerry Ellis and Lee Mead to Star in THE NIGHT OF ELECTRIC VOICES, March 1

Kerry Ellis, who takes over from Nicole Scherzinger as Grizabella in the current West End smash-hit, Cats, will feature inThe Night of Electric Voices on Sunday 1 March 2015 at 8pm at the London Coliseum, the largest theatre in London. It is announced today that Casualty heart-throb and winner of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Any Dream Will Do, Lee Mead, will be joining Kerry Ellis and the many stars of West End and Broadway.
