Taylor Louderman, Rebecca Luker, Mary Testa and More to Celebrate Women Making Musicals at Prospect's 2015 Gala

Prospect Theater Company is pleased to announce additional cast members for its 2015 annual gala, a Concert Evening Celebrating Women Making Musicals. This special one-night-only event will be held at The Times Center on Saturday, May 16 with an 8pm concert performance featuring Broadway and Prospect stars. The evening's program includes a diverse array of songs written or co-written by women, including encores of work from Prospect productions. Proceeds from the evening will benefit Prospect's ongoing mission to develop and produce new musical theater works by emerging artists.

BWW Review: BECAUSE OF WINN DIXIE at Delaware Theatre Company

When the title of the musical is followed by 'based on the book/film...', there tends to be one of two reactions- excitement (LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, MARY POPPINS, RAGTIME) or dread (SISTER ACT, GHOST, CARRIE). And while the Broadway-bound BECAUSE OF WINN DIXIE, now playing through May 10th at the Delaware Theatre Company, does not quite reach the level of LA CAGE or RAGTIME, it's hard to resist the feel-good charm bubbling off the stage.

Hereafter Musical, a thought provoking new musical by Vinnie Favale and Frankie Keane about the age old human desire to communicate with our loved ones who have passed, told from the perspectives of both the living and the departed, is slated for an open-ended run, Off-Broadway, at the Snapple Theater Center (1627 Broadway) with previews beginning on Saturday, September 13, 2014. Co-Author's Favale and Keane draw from their own personal losses in the inspiring look at the beyond, which will have its official opening today, October 25, 2014 at 4:45PM.

Chita Rivera, Karen Ziemba & More Join National Yiddish Theatre - Folksbiene's RAISING THE ROOF Lineup at Town Hall, 6/9

New York Theatre Barn will release the new fully orchestrated demo recording of Small Town Story (formerly Speargrove Presents), a new musical commissioned by NYTB, in a concert sung by most of the demo cast and band at its signature new musical development platform NYTB in the D-Lounge on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 7:30 PM at the Daryl Roth Theatre in New York City.
