The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the nominees for the 40th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards.

This year's main-stage attraction of SCR's annual Pacific Playwrights Festival, SMOKEFALL---a co-production with Chicago's Goodman Theatre directed by Anne Kauffman---starts off initially intriguing, as if first unveiling itself as a dark dramedy that follows three generations of an eccentric family living in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and the tolls that the passage of time imposes on their lives. But instead, what actually transpires through the course of its three acts is an uneven play that ultimately gets too bogged down in its own randomly structured quirkiness.

Internationally recognized for its adventurous opera and classical music programming, Spoleto Festival USA offers an eclectic program of music and opera for its 37th season. In addition to the American premiere of Matsukaze-the first of Japanese composer Toshio Hosokawa's operas to be produced in the United States-the program includes American premiere performances of P?teris Vasks' Credo and Pierre Boulez's arrangement of Ravel's Frontispice. Also to be performed are a double-bill of rarely performed Italian operas, Puccini's Le Villi and Giordano's Mese Mariano, and Verdi's Messa da Requiem conducted by Joseph Flummerfelt in his farewell appearance as Spoleto's Artistic Director for Choral Activities.

Llega al Teatro Reina Victoria de Madrid la version musical de '¡Ay, Carmela! El Musical', sobre la obra de Sanchis Sinisterra, con Inma Cuesta como Carmela, Javier Gutierrez como Paulino y Marta Ribera como Gustavete. El espectaculo estara en cartel hasta el 2 de junio.

In three short acts, Noah Haidle's play 'Smokefall' tells the story of three generations of a middle-American family that lives in Grand Rapids, Mich. Join South Coast Repertory for the world premiere of Smokefall, running now through April 28, 2013. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

South Coast Repertory presents the world premiere of Noah Haidle's Smokefall, a co-production with Goodman Theatre in Chicago, directed by Obie Award-winning director Anne Kauffman. Carmela Snelbaker's Thank You For Your Service, Sheep! is a delightfully illustrated picture book that uses rhymes and images to portray the dutiful service of these faithful creatures, and how national icons put their abilities to good use in pivotal moments of history.

The Los Angeles Premiere of Slipping will begin on Saturday, April 6, and run through Sunday, May 5, 2013, as Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's first LA production. With the upcoming release of his first feature film, NOT FADE AWAY, SOPRANOS creator David Chase recently confirmed to Showbiz 411 that plans for a movie based upon his hit HBO show have been scrapped.
