DALLAS (SMU) February 3, 2015 -- The Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University has announced the recipients of its sixth annual Meadows Prize arts residency: the Detroit-based artist collective Complex Movements and Lear deBessonet, the director of The Public Theater's Public Works program in New York City. The Meadows Prize is awarded to pioneering artists and creative professionals who are active in one or more disciplines represented by the academic units within the Meadows School.
Nickelodeon combines the hilarious world of viral videos, physical challenges and slime in a fresh new format with its latest game show creation, WebHeads, premiering daily beginning Monday, June 2 at 6 P.M. (ET/PT). Hosted by Nickelodeon and Big Time Rush alum, Carlos PenaVega, and produced by Ryan Seacrest Productions, the series features kid contestants as they compete in elimination challenges revolving around viral videos. Each round will test kids' video instincts - from predicting outcomes to guessing their popularity, as voted by the studio audience. Today, the spotlight falls upon Angela Gimlin, who is appearing this weekend in the debut work from Nashville's Kirk-Burgess Productions: Prince Gomolvilas' play Mysterious Skin, based on the Scott Heim novel of the same name, that weaves together the interconnected stories of two young men, each struggling to overcome his horrific past. Angela, whose versatility is obvious in the production, plays the distant mother of one of the boys' and a surly Little League functionary who simply doesn't want to be bothered.
