South Florida Cultural Consortium (SFCC) has awarded three Broward County artists through its Visual and Media Artists Program.

Rather than focusing on the ruins or economic distress people have come to expect with Detroit photography, Obscura Land's inaugural project, Volume 1: Detroit, highlights photographers whose connection to the city influences their conceptually oriented images. The 19 Detroit photographers featured in this volume include some of the most celebrated names in the city's photo community. This Detroit project is only available until November 30, 2016 at obscuraland.com.

Winner of the HOLA award for outstanding new play and the ACE award for best director/drama, both for La Luz De Un Cigarrillo (The Light Of A Cigarette), Marco Antonio Rodriguez's new play, Barcelo On Ice, is a finalist in Spanish Repertory's Nuestras Voices playwriting competition and will receive a free public reading (in Spanish) tonight, November 19, 6:30 pm. Barcelo On Ice competed with over 75 other works and was selected as one of only nine finalists!
