Will Ferrell to Receive 2011 Mark Twain Prize for Humor, 10/23

Since 1998, the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor has been awarded to some of the biggest names in entertainment: Richard Pryor, Carl Reiner, Neil Simon, and George Carlin, to name a few. This year, the Kennedy Center will present the 14th Annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor to Will Ferrell on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 7 p.m. The award, named to honor one of America's-and the world's-greatest humorists, will feature a lineup of the biggest names in comedy.

Mary Tyler Moore Wins Screen Actors Guild's Lifetime Achievement Award

Renowned actress, producer and humanitarian Mary Tyler Moore will receive Screen Actors Guild (SAG)'s most prestigious accolade - the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award. Moore created a new paradigm for female leads in television, won top honors for her courageous performances in film, television and on stage, produced some of the most lauded television programs of all time, and for thirty years, has served as a tireless advocate giving hope to all those afflicted with Type 1 diabetes.

'Dick Van Dyke Show' Wins 2011 Television Critics Association Award

THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW was been selected as a 2011 Television Critics Association Award winner. The series was the top vote getter in the category of 'Heritage Award.' The TCA presents this prestigious award to one long-standing program that has culturally or socially impacted society. Carol Reiner, Larry Mathews and he first Lady of Las Vegas, Rose Marie, were on hand to accept the honor. 'Sheldon Leonard told me that if you want the best, to get Rose Marie,' recalled Carl Reiner. Ms. Marie said, 'When they first approached me about being part of The Dick Van Dyke Show, I said 'What's a Dick Van Dyke?'

'Mad Men,' 'Modern Family,' 'Parks and Recreation,' et al. Win TV Critics' Awards

The Television Critics Association (TCA) tonight recognized the top programs and actors of the 2010-2011 television season at its 27th Annual TCA Awards presentation. Nick Offerman, star of NBC's 'Parks and Recreation,' hosted the annual invitation-only event, held at The Beverly Hilton hotel in conjunction with the TCA's summer press tour. The non-televised ceremony bestowed awards in 12 categories to recipients in comedy, drama, reality, miniseries, news and youth programming.

Steve Carell & David Steinberg Team Up on New Interview Series 'Laughing Stock'

Multi-hyphenate comic impresarios Steve Carell (The Office) and David Steinberg (Sit Down Comedy with David Steinberg) are bringing the biggest names in comedy to the table as executive producers of LAUGHING STOCK, a revealing new comedy interview series featuring the world's funniest personalities, one-on-one with host Steinberg, it was announced today by SHOWTIME President of Entertainment David Nevins. Iconic talent spanning five decades will discuss the art of comedy, evolution of the genre and their ascension to the top of their field. Carell and Steinberg will serve as executive producers, alongside Vance DeGeneres and Charlie Hartsock for Carousel Productions, with Steinberg also serving as Director and Host. The ten, half-hour episodes will debut on SHOWTIME in early 2012.

ENTER LAUGHING, The Musical, the hilarious Broadway-bound production, is now in rehearsal at the New 42nd Street Studios. The first preview is August 9. A limited number of 'Pay What You Can' tickets will be available on that date after 2 pm at the Box Office. The show runs through September 4. The show features a book by the legendary Joseph Stein (Fiddler on the Roof, Zorba), music and lyrics by Stan Daniels ('The Mary Tyler Moore Show,' 'Taxi').
