Producers Karl Sydow and Paul Elliott have announced that the new UK production of Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage, is mamboing back onto the road after a sensational Christmas season in the West End followed by international dates in Bremen and Cannes. The production celebrates its 7,000th performance tonight 7 March 2017

The McLean Community Players will present William Shakespeare's comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream, opening Friday, April 14, 2017, at Vinson Hall's Community Building Ballroom, 1735 Kirby Road, McLean, VA 22101. The production runs weekends through Sunday, April 30.

Pioneer Theatre Company presents King Charles III by Mike Bartlett, a 2015 Tony Award Nominee for Best Play. This future history play runs March 24 - April 8, 2017.

Rehearsals began this week for the revival of John Guare's critically acclaimed play Six Degrees of Separation starring seven-time Emmy Award winner Allison Janney ('Mom,' The Girl on the Train) as Ouisa, Tony Award winner John Benjamin Hickey (The Normal Heart, 'Manhattan') as Flan and Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton, '24: Legacy') as Paul. Directed by Trip Cullman (Significant Other, Yen), Six Degrees of Separation will begin previews Wednesday, April 5 prior to the official opening on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Barrymore Theatre. The production will play a 15-week run through Sunday, July 16.

Times like these call for plays that directly address our anxieties; and Mike Bartlett's King Charles III is about as timely and necessary a play as we're likely to see.
