The Menier Chocolate Factory today announces a brand new production of Sue Townsend's The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 ¾ - The Musical, which opens in Adrian's 50th birthday year. Jake Brunger and Pippa Cleary's musical of Leicester's favourite teen has undergone a period of further development since its original production at Curve in 2015, and Luke Sheppard's new production will open at the Menier on 26 July at 3.30pm, with previews from 14 July, and runs until 9 September. Priority booking for the productions opens on Monday 22 May, with public booking on Tuesday 30 May.

The two women tell two sides of the same story: the former - a Commander's wife whose biggest dream when she was younger was to become a dancer but is forced into marriage - recalls her married life with her husband Frederick, the latter - a ballet dancer - explains how she was picked from a concentration camp because the Commander wanted a ballet dancer for his party.
Masterpiece on PBS and the BBC have teamed on a television adaption of the Tony-nominated play KING CHARLES III. The project will mark a reunion of the hit show's creative team, with writer Mike Bartlett adapting from his own script and Rupert Goold directing.
Ducdame Ensemble will bring Victoria Benedictsson's Swedish classic, THE ENCHANTMENT, to North America for its first full production. This new adaptation by Tommy Lexen will be part of SubletSeries@HERE: a curated rental program, which provides artists with subsidized space and equipment, as well as technical support. THE ENCHANTMENT will run June 28th through July 22nd, 2017. Lucy Jane Atkinson is set to direct.
Producers Karl Sydow and Paul Elliott have announced that the new UK production of Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage, will mambo back onto the road after a sensational Christmas season in the West End followed by international dates in Bremen and Cannes. The show opens in Southend on 11 January and tours the UK and Ireland until the autumn of 2017.

The welcome mat for artists from the four corners of the globe has shone brightly at La MaMa's theater entryway for 55 years, and for the past 12, the welcome has been extended to choreographers and dancers participating in the La MaMa Moves! Dance Festival, which this season includes 17 dance companies and artists whose work asks important questions about the conditions of the world in which we are now living. The 2017 festival runs May 18-June 4.
