Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director of The Public Theater, has announced the 26-member Broadway cast of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical. Newcomers to the cast include Gavin Creel, Caissie Levy and Sasha Allen, who join the rest of the tribe, who are reprising their roles from Central Park last summer. HAIR begins preview performances on Friday, March 6 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street, NYC) with an Opening Night set for Tuesday, March 31, 2009.

Currently in rehearsal at the Union Square Theatre, HAIR begins preview performances on Friday, March 6 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street, NYC) with an Opening Night set for Tuesday, March 31, 2009.In order to accommodate the logistics of the new producing partnership, preview performances will now begin on Friday, March 6, with Opening Night set for Tuesday, March 31, at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (320 West 45th Street, New York City).

The producers of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical have established a pre-performance ticket lottery for box-seat tickets, aptly renamed 'BE-IN BOXES.' Those wishing to purchase these tickets are asked to show up at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre 2 1/2 hours before each performance for a drawing that will take place 2 hours before curtain. For every performance (beginning Friday), a limited number of lucky audience members will receive $25 'be-in box' tickets, promising to make their experience of the show both affordable and unique.

Situation Interactive announced the launch of its HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical web initiative in support of the Broadway musical. The online experience utilizes all that's exciting and fun about web 2.0 technology (something we here BroadwayWorld.com know an awful lot about!), allowing Broadway fans intimate access to the show's cast, video streams, blogging and the ability to become part of the ?tribe' (an online community for polling and sharing).

Currently in rehearsal at the Union Square Theatre, HAIR begins preview performances on Friday, March 6 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street, NYC) with an Opening Night set for Tuesday, March 31, 2009. On February 14, Valentine's Day, the cast of HAIR celebrated the day of love (and the day some say the moon is in the 7th house and Jupiter aligns with Mars) by going into Union Square during their lunch break (they're rehearsing a block away!) to spread the love by passing at flowers and giving an impromptu performance of 'Aquarius.'

Over consecutive days this week, the 26-member Broadway cast of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, has been announced by Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director of The Public Theater.
The cast will begin rehearsals this morning at the Union Square Theater.
The final HAIR cast members to be confirmed are Sasha Allen (Dionne, White Boys Trio), Caissie Levy (Sheila), Megan Lawrence (Mother), Bryce Ryness (Woof) and Will Swenson (Berger).

Mayor Gavin Newsom proclaimed 'A WICKED Day in San Francisco,' welcoming the international phenomenon back to the city where it had its world premiere. At a special Homecoming Party in Union Square, WICKED Producer David Stone accepted a proclamation from Luis Cancel, Director of Cultural Affairs for the City and County of San Francisco on behalf of Mayor Newsom. Producer David Stone was in San Francisco for the Homecoming as tickets went on sale for the open-ended engagement of WICKED, which begins performances at the Orpheum Theatre January 27, 2009. He was joined by cast members performing in Union Square for a group of enthusiastic fans.
