ABC announced today that the acclaimed country star will officially appear on NASHVILLE's season finale, set to air on May 22. Paisley will play himself in the episode, in which he will perform with Connie Britton and Charles Esten.

On NASHVILLE's upcoming episode, titled 'Take These Chains from My Heart,' Liam invites Rayna to run away with him to finish her album, and Deacon is surprised by his own reaction, as well as Stacy's accusations; Jolene warns Juliette about Dante's loyalty, which only drives the two women further apart; Teddy faces off with Peggy about the leaks, and in the wake of her father's illness, Tandy proposes a new alliance to Coleman. Meanwhile Gunnar tries out some new music, and Avery and Scarlett reconnect, on WEDNESDAY, MAY 1 (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET) on ABC.

The year is 1870, and a fragmented America still strains to pick up the pieces from a savage Civil War. Martha (Clare Bowen) and her husband Heck (David Call) are living on a homestead on the rural New Mexico frontier, struggling to make ends meet. When a mining company expresses interest in buying their land, Martha and Heck see their ticket to a better life. Their plans are complicated when Martha's oldest brother Wade (Barlow Jacobs)-believed lost in the war-returns to the family homestead. A defector to the Union Army, Wade discovers Martha is hiding secrets of her own. The siblings are torn between a desire to reconcile with the only family they have left, and their clashing convictions.
