A new play which examines the use of virtual reality in treating soldiers experiencing PTSD, Ugly Lies the Bone by Lindsey Ferrentino makes its European premiere in the Lyttelton Theatre this week.

Kate Fleetwood's varied career encompasses everything from musicals London Road and High Society to Macbeth and Medea. She's currently starring in American writer Lindsey Ferrentino's play about a soldier who returns home to Florida after suffering a life-changing injury in Afghanistan. The production begins previews tonight. 

World premieres, new writers and ground-breaking adaptations have been announced for 2017 at the National Theatre.

Award-winning comedian, actor, writer and director Harry Enfield will play Hollywood studio boss Glogauer in Richard Jones' production of Once in a Lifetime from 25 November in the Young Vic's Main House. Joining Enfield in the company are Daniel Abelson, Claudie Blakley, Okorie Chukwu, Lucy Cohu, Lizzy Connolly, Buffy Davis, Otto Farrant, Amy Griffiths, Amanda Lawrence and John Marquez. Further casting is still to be announced. Joe Hill-Gibbins returns to the Young Vic and to Shakespeare following his critically acclaimed Measure for Measure in 2015. A Midsummer Night's Dream will play the Young Vic's Main House 17 February - 1 April.

Harry Enfield will play studio boss Herman Glogauer in Christopher Hart's adaptation of Kaufman and Hart's classic Hollywood comedy, Once in a Lifetime. Enfield is joined in the cast of Richard Jones' production by John Marquez as George and Claudie Blakley as May, with further casting still to be announced.

Red Handed Theatre Company will present Sheridan's most popular comedy, The School for Scandal, at the Park Theatre, London from tonight, 12 June to the 7 July. Directed by Jessica Swale, this sparkling period production will come to life in one of London's newest venues before transferring to the Georgian Theatre Royal Bury St. Edmunds.
