AMBI Pictures principals Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi today announced that Peter Stormare (“Fargo,” “22 Jump Street,” “The Big Labowski”), Kerry Bishé (“Argo,” “Sex and the City”), Lesley Manville (“Maleficent,” “Mr. Turner,” “Another Year”) and Ari Millen (“Orphan Black,” “Exit Humanity,” “12 Monkeys”) have been cast in the sci-fi adventure thriller “Rupture,” starring Noomi Rapace (“Prometheus,” “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows,” “The Drop”) and Michael Chiklis (“Fantastic Four,” “The Shield”).

Georgette Timoney, the veteran New Jersey actress, will bring to life firebrand columnist and satirist Molly Ivins, the late Texas journalist and best-selling author, in the New Jersey premiere of Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins. The play opens on May 21 at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse, a restored 1853 landmark theater, in Cape May.

ENTERTAING MR. SLOAN by Joe Orton, the latest entry in the grim comedy sweepstakes currently going on at 2nd Story Theater in Warren, is a funny plays made with gruesome ingredients. When the audience takes its seat, it is greeted by Trevor Elliot's set--a simple, orderly middle class living room, which suggests nothing of the chaos soon to take place. Like the characters Orton created in 1964, the set is not what it first appears to be: what the audience cannot see is that the orderly living room is in a house at the edge of a dump.

Two River Theater, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst, announces the lineup of productions for its 2015/16 Season. The season will launch in September with August Wilson's Seven Guitars, directed by Brandon J. Dirden and will include the musical A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, directed by Jessica Stone; a new music-theater production of Shakespeare's Pericles created by Rinde Eckert and David Schweizer; and the Transport Group's critically acclaimed production of I Remember Mama, directed by Jack Cummings III.

Steven will be making two exclusive Connecticut stand-up comedy appearances tonight, May 8th, 9:30 at Marisa's in Trumbull and on May 9th, 9:00 at the Cabaret Theater at Mohegan Sun.
