Theatre Exile Closes Its 13th Season With SHINING CITY, 4/25

Theatre Exile will close their 13th season with the Philadelphia premiere of Shining City by Conor McPherson, the award-winning playwright of The Weir and The Seafarer, on April 25th. The production is directed by Exile's associate artistic director Matt Pfieffer.

March 3, 2010 - Theatre Exile is proud to close their 13th season with the Philadelphia premiere of Shining City by Conor McPherson, the award-winning playwright of The Weir and The Seafarer. Directed by Exile's associate artistic director Matt Pfieffer, Shining City runs April 7th through the 25th at the Plays and Players Theatre, with the press opening Friday, April 9th at 8pm.

Philadelphia Theatre Company announces that two-time Tony Award-nominee and film actress Kathleen Turner will star in the world premiere of Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins by Margaret Engel and Allison Engel. Directed by award-winning director David Esbjornson, this one-woman play based on the writings of the late political journalist Molly Ivins will take the slot previously slated for Mauritius by Theresa Rebeck. 'Red Hot Patriot' runs through April 18, 2010.

Northlight Theatre Announces 2010-11 Season

Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans are proud to announce the 2010-11 Northlight Season, which includes Daddy Long Legs, the new musical from the director of Les Miserables and the creators of Jane Eyre; Paula Vogel's holiday production for all ages and faiths, A Civil War Christmas: An American Musical Celebration; Eclipsed, Danai Gurira's play about five Liberian women whose lives have been upturned by civil war; Jon Jory's world premiere adaptation of Jane Austen's classic Sense and Sensibility; and The Outgoing Tide, a new play by Bruce Graham to be directed by BJ Jones and feature John Mahoney.

Act II Associate Artistic Director Harriet Power directs this sharp-tongued 'comedy of morals', co-produced with Center City-based Theatre Exile.
