Square One Theatre Announces 28th Anniversary Season

The Square One Theatre Company in Stratford, Connecticut announces that its 28thAnniversary Season will include Core Values, an entertaining play with many genuinely funny, laugh-out-loud moments (theatremania.com); White Guy on the Bus, an unusually frank drama This one goes for the jugular. (Chicago Tribune) and The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelky, which leaves you beaming with joy (The New York Times).

Including such classic songs as Broadway Baby, I'm Still Here and Losing My Mind, Stephen Sondheim's legendary musical FOLLIES is being staged for the first time at the National Theatre. Tracie Bennett, Janie Dee and Imelda Staunton play the magnificent Follies in this dazzling new production. Featuring a cast of 37 and an orchestra of 21, the production is directed by Dominic Cooke (Ma Rainey's Black Bottom). SCTC Adds David Lindsay-Abaire's RIPCORD to Season 13

The South Camden Theatre Company Board of Directors made some changes to the times we produce our seasons. Season 13, Celebrating Women Playwrights now opens in February, 2018 instead of September 2017.

Lantern Theater Company will launch its 24th season with the regional premiere of Red Velvet, Lolita Chakrabarti's stirring play based on the true story of 19th century actor Ira Aldridge, who made history as the first African-American actor to portray Othello in 1833 London. Longtime Lantern artistic collaborator Peter DeLaurier will direct a cast that includes Tony Award nominee Forrest McClendon as Ira Aldridge, with David Bardeen, Damon Bonetti, Liz Filios, Adam Hammet, David Pica, Ebony Pullum, and Lauren Sowa. Theater critics and members of the press are invited to attend opening night on Wednesday, September 13 at 7 p.m. A full schedule is included in the fact sheet below.

Northlight Announces Changes to Upcoming Season

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, announces the addition of Cry It Out, written by Molly Smith Metzler, to close its 43rd season, May 10 - June 17, 2018. The previously announced The Legend of Georgia McBride, directed by Lauren Shouse, has been re-scheduled to open the season, playing September 14 - October 22, 2017, replacing Bruce Graham's Sanctions.
