The festival will see the world premiere of LIZA: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story about Broadway icon Liza Minnelli. Documentaries include the world premiere of Satisfied, an intimate look at the actress Renée Elise Goldsberry.
HBO documentary Icahn: the Restless Billionaire, directed by Bruce David Klein, explores the fascinating contradictions at the heart of the famed financier, Carl Icahn. Amassing close to $20 billion dollars and at the forefront of some of the most legendary business deals of our times, Icahn, is often referred to as the “Lone Wolf of Wall Street.'
The film will reportedly begin following the death of Minnelli's mother, Judy Garland. It will then follow Minnelli on her rise to fame, beginning in the 1970s, and chronicling her various accolades, including an Oscar for best actress (Cabaret), an Emmy for best TV special (Liza with a Z), and a Tony for best actress in a musical (The Act).
