Huntington Theatre Company Presents SHERLOCK'S LAST CASE

In the Huntington Theatre Company's revival of Charles Marowitz's mystery play Sherlock's Last Case, alliances are tested, rivalries are raised from the dead, and long-simmering grudges play out in deadly ways. The beloved Sherlock Holmes, his aide de camp Dr. John Watson, and their put-upon landlady Mrs. Hudson - along with the iconic Baker Street flat - come to the Huntington Avenue Theatre Sep. 28 - Oct. 28, 2018, in a production directed by Maria Aitken.

Brooklyn Actor Dan Ruth Returns In Award Winning A LIFE BEHIND BARS

Writer-actor, Dan Ruth's A Life Behind Bars returns to Los Angeles as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2018. A Life Behind Bars was universally praised by critics in New York City during its 2017 run at the Laurie Beechman Theater on Theatre Row. This past March, Ruth won the 2018 MAC Award for 'Best Spoken Word' and the 2018 Bistro Award for 'Outstanding Solo Play."  A Life Behind Bars opened in Los Angeles in January 2018 with two highly acclaimed performances at the Whitefire Theatre's SoloFest and now it returns to the Lounge Theatre II for five performances beginning Thursday, June 14th at 6 pm, Sunday, June 17th at 10 pm, Monday, June 18th at 8 pm; Thursday, June 21st at 10 pm and Sunday, June 24th at 12 pm.

The Acting Company presents a one-night-only benefit reading of The Night of the Iguana, Tennessee Williams' feverishly poetic 1961 drama, at The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College (68th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues), on Monday, June 11. Directed by Michael Wilson, the acclaimed Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award-winner, the performance reunites much of the cast and creative team from last season's critically acclaimed production at the American Repertory Theatre.

New Performance Space East Village Playhouse Opens Downtown

A brand new performance space has opened in the downtown theatre scene, the East Village Playhouse (340 East 6th St) now occupies the former music shop Tribal Soundz. A destination for thriving and aspiring musicians and recording artists, the shop shuttered in 2008. Now the once vacant East 6th Street storefront has been revived for the first time in a decade as the East Village Playhouse, an arts destination. Opening on Thursday, February 15, 2018, the New York premiere of A Brooklyn Boy is the debut production, playing alongside the recently announced extension of The Bench.
